I doubt there will be anything close to 'nam era, but maybe for late Korea or sumthin'( I'm not sure if it existed then :S) Although I remember alot of people didn't want it for some reason. I for one would dig it

Vietnam era has been brought up before. Main reason why IL-2 won't play nice with newer a/c: limits of game engine simulating sonic speeds, inability of game engine to handle more advanced avionics.

That is as I remember it. As I had posted in a previous thread, if someone COULD do it, great. Just as it is currently understood (in a very general sense,) it can't be done. Not to say anyone who's trying should stop of course

~sigh~..~sadly shakes head in despair~ you people who do nothing but request the almost impossible, ok so we make a B-52 what the hell is going to be able to fly that high at that speed in game to shoot it down, then we have to creat fighters to shoot the damn thing down which we cant do because the game engine cannot handle complex avionics, for all those out there who keep bringing up stupid ideas to add to this sim, i have a small piece of advice for you, learn how to mod, then the realisation of what you ask sinks in. It would result in a comunity with far greater understanding.

I don't mod, I've been looking here for a year. member for half a year (why does it matter!?) and I've seen all the BS people are requesting... I told the guy that Vietnam era planes ( or planes made after ca. 1950) won't work, so why do YOU care to still sound like you suffer from PMS? :lol:

anyways i think some admin post that they might deleat a vietnam post for request.
i say almost the same thing as 4./jg53_Howlin, nothing can shoot it down and the game cant handal the speeds
Plus ive teasted it and i put the game settings to not let me get killed and i dived in a small german get and went boom at 1500Kph in a dive from 2200m(took a long time to get there

That's would be great, but, not for start a vietnam mod or something, a B-52 without cockpit, that could be for compare all the planes, and for have some fun, but thats it.

I'm the first one who like to see an F-18, A-10, SR-71, B-36, U-2, F-14/15/16,Suhkois, the X-1, the hughes XR-11, Spanish C-101 Aviojet , F-4 Phantom, A-7 Corsair, Mig-21, F-5 Tiger... All the planes made, even the Airbus A-380, but, if it's not possible...
I hope someday we will enjoy that...

I remember that the first B-17 mod haven't got cockpit, and it was very entertaining to fly.

A fully completed MiG-15 with a new FM could catch up to a 'BUFF' easily. MiG-15: 1100 Km/h (684 Mph), Service Ceiling: 15,545m (51,000ft) B-52D: 893 Km/h (554 Mph at altitude) Service Ceiling: 11,600m (38,000ft). And as for complex avionics, the YB-52 was first flown in 1952 complex avionics would be at a mininun (in the early models) and they aren't as needed as the Heinkel Lerche don't you think. :wink: But then again my knowledge of modelling is limited so I may be wrong. And it is up to you modders to decide whether to spend your time on a B-52 or not. But I'm for a BUFF if possible.
