I have been successful in changing the default skins for many aircraft in the game but I am having a problem making a RNZAF skin the default skin when selecting RNZAF as the airforce when I place this skin in the below folder.

F:\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\SKINMOD\3do\plane\F4U-1A(Multi1)\summer

I can choose any non-US country, except for New Zealand, as the air force and my skin shows up correctly as the default skin with that country's national markings.

If I select RNZAF as the air force it changes to the skin I placed in the below folder as the default skin only with New Zealand National Markings.

Basically I want to have a RNZAF skin in the F4U-1A(Multi1) folder and a USMC skin in the F4U-1A(USA) folder and have the appropriate skin show up when I select RNZAF or USMC or USN.

Any help or explanation for this issue would be appreciated.

RNZAF flew the F4U Corsair (normal wing) using the designatin F4U-1A like the USMC and USN, but unlike the RN who flew the F4U Corsair using the designation Corsair II (F4U-1A) modified to use clipped wings and later the Corsair IV (FG-1D) also with clipped wings.

Is there a way to fix this issue because I want the ability to select the correct air force and squadron from the drop down lists and have the correct default skin appear when choosing to fly the F4U-1A?

And before it is said there is no "NONE" choice for air force in the Quick Mission Builder.

I'm unable to find the correct path for the unique (marked) RNZAF skin, its definitely not in the filelist of the sfs extractor.

IIRC I had the same issue with the romanian P.11 skin

The USN, USMC & New Zealand were the only operators of the F4U-1A. The problem has been that when you put a new default skin into the F4U-1A(MULTI) folder you get a US camouflage skin with RNZAF markings. If you rename F4U-1A(MULTI) to F4U-1A(RZ) you can put a RNZAF skin in this folder and it will show up as a default skin for non-US countries. So you can now put a skin with markings in there or turn markings on and select RNZAF for country and the game's markings will show up.


I now have two folders for the F4U-1A:

F4U-1A(USA)
F4U-1A(RZ)

Inside each folder I have folders for summer, winter & desert.

Can you actually create new folders with the appropriate country identification..ie: (RO), (FI), (IT), (RU), (PL), (FR)...etc... and put the skins there and have the default skin show up for that particular country only??!!!

please tell me its possible
