ok, im flying around in my nice shiny rocket interceptor, and i black out....im flying level, so is this just because im going like 800km/h or is it something else???
the BI-6 to be exact, the one with twin RAMJETS
Was there a loud "Thunk!" preceding the blackout? Was it instantaneous as opposed to gradual? If this is the case, you are dead.
A Face mask isn't going to help you.
Above a certain speed, the angle of attack of the Bi-6s wing becomes so low it actually goes negative. This negative pitch pushes the nose downwards. In the cockpit, the pilots blood rushes into his brain causing what is known as a "Red out". The exact opposite to a "Black out" but it takes much longer to recover.
Any prolonged period in a red out means that the most help a face mask would provide is to make it easier to collect the pilot's teeth after the crash.
To get out of this situation... Watch your speed and slow down!

roll 180*
See, when you exceed a certain speed, the plane nose dives. Roll till you're upside down, and the plane will still nose dive, but instead that would mean that the craft climbs, and loses speed untill it is controlable again.
Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.
Read page 15 of the "Aircraft guide.pdf" :
"Having the same basic airframe as the BI-1, the aircraft is prone to enter uncontrollable dives at speeds in excess of 800 km/h."
