hi there, i keep finding different video setups for different cards, and i try them out, but as a have probably the cheapest card money can buy, the results arnt that great. i was just wondering if someone could suggest a few numbers for the settings for me.(and please just dont say "the lowest"). here is my basic system info (please, dont laugh)
Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+ (2015 MHz)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP, 32-bit (Service Pack 3)
DirectX version: 9.0c
GPU processor: GeForce 6200
Driver version: 186.18
Core clock: 350 MHz
Memory clock: 532 MHz (1064 MHz data rate)
Memory interface: 64-bit
Memory: 256 MB
Video BIOS version: 5.44.A2.09.00
IRQ: 16
Bus: AGP 8X
EDIT: the game runs fine(ish) with the high end settings, but i just want to optimise my game play.
ok thanks for the help, i will disable my AA when i get home later on today, and post my config.ini aswell. also, using an Nvidia card, isnt it better to use DX rather than OpenGL???? because thats what im using at th moment and Open Gl seems slower for me..
ok then thanks for that, i thought it was better to use OpenGL on other cards, as i had to update my drivers just to use it on my card lol. il upload my settings later on.
thanks for the tip.
these are my current setting for opengl, seems to work fine for me now, its not the best, but its ok, any suggestions on how iould improve it??
EDIT: i do get a microstutter, every second nearly. but its ever so tiny, you only just catch it, (hence the name "microstutter" im guessing)

With a low end card the first thing I would do (did) was to disable vertical sync, I don't like the tearing you get but the gain is more substantal than most other options. With Il2 it is 'on' as standard, so on a nvidia card you need to set it to 'forced off' to disable it. Also 4.09 maps are far more demanding on your system than 4.08 so that should be taken into account when you are configuring your graphics.
Ive done all that was suggested, plus in Nvidia control panel ive set it to "full performance" now its working fine, with just a tiny stutter every minute or so..good enough for me
