So, i downloaded the AAA mod, and decided to install it.
I also found the panther so i started to do that.
I decided to check and see if it had worked and double clicked the Icon, it took a bit then finally went to the loading splash screen, then showed 5% loaded in the bottom left hand corner...then it just crashed to desktop.
I thought the plane had messed it up, so i deleted it and reinstalled 1946, then added the AAA mod...and tried it without the plane, and still i get the 5% crash.
I thought i would ask here before i deleted it, re-installed it, and re-downloaded all the files again.

go to the il2 main folder ans run the il2setup. then go to the sound tab and set everything to the highest settings :wink:
No luck.
I tried a variety of settings, and put it on Soundblaster Live! the soundcard i have, still nothing.

ok, but 5% ctd usually means the sound settings are not correct for the mod.
i use custom settings
surround
3d engine full
sample rate 44100
audio enhancements checked
I learned that files.SFS are associated with a 5% crash. Make sure none of them are corrupt, none of them are missing, etc.
If you backed everything up as you should have, you should be able to compare files.
there is a 5% crash troubleshooter at the SAS (in FAQ under links to other sites with good tutorials), here are the highlights
~You just upgraded Il2. During this you missed an SFS file Somewhere. Go back and repeat.
~You just installed a mod enabler. Then , also you might have missed an SFS file (could happen with some enablers) or, your copy of IL2 is a direct to drive copy bought over the internet.That means One of your SFS files and some of your dlls are spiked by UBI. There is an old fix for this at AAA. We are working on an updated one.
~Somehow your soundsetting is something other than 44.1KHz, and this is somehow screwing everything else. I personally have never been able to reproduce this crash. But know about it anyway, Access your sound settings through the IL2Setup.exe , or IL2SET.exe in your game folder.
~You did nothing and now there is a 5% crash. One of your SFS files somehow got lost or corrupted. Count them and replace them if needed. Copy all SFS files over from a backup of your game

i had the same problem (5% crash) when trying to install UI 1.1 from IL2 1946 default, but going 4.08 before the UI solved it

Turns out i'm just a complete retard and forgot to install the patch.
So sorry i am incompetent everyone, but it's up and working.
Now to get that Panther and the Swordfish working!
