Be patient! I am now currently working on two campaigns - the first is Slovak, the second is Czechoslovak. Both will be using the map of Slovakia. (The rest is secret 8) .)

And I also have plans to make something over the Channel in 1944...

BTW, a friend of mine has made a semi-historical campaign featuring the Czechoslovak involvement in the Battle of Britain - this could be what you have been praying for!

I had an idea to do the battles of Strecno Valley and Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia 1945.
Not sure yet how to go about it. Don't have much info on the air forces so much of it would probably be fiction but based on real ground events. I'll get around to it some day.

I always thought the Slovakian uprising would be a great campaign. The skins are there, the planes are mostly there, the documentation is there.

Imagine a semi-historical scenario where you fight as a Czech pilot for the Raf, in a Hurricane and Spitfire then a Bf-109 at the beginning of the uprising, and finally a LaFN for the Czech/Soviet squadron.

My campaign will be the branched one - it means it will be slightly different each time you will play it - you will start as a Czech pilot in the RAF (or a Slovak pilot in the Axis Slovakia Air Arm) and you will find your way to the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Fighter Air Regiment in the USSR. You will be flying La-5FN as this unit was equipped with these planes.

I am also thinking about making a similar Allied campaign for the Slovak insurgents flying Bf-106Gs.

(But before that, I will release an Axis Slovak campaign against the USAAF in 1944.)

Last night I started something on the winter-slovakia MOD map. This will be a short campaign of the 1st Czechoslovak sqn during the battles for Liptovsky-Mikulas in the Vah River Valley, north Slovakia in early 1945. Flying the La-5FN, you will fly patrols, bomber intercepts, and generally battle for air supremacy.

I noticed I have three skins in my files for 1st CZ sqn. Can someone direct me to more skins?

Which specific types of German fighters and bombers should be used? How strong was the Luftwaffe in this area in early 1945? Which German units were in Slovakia at this time? Any help is appreciated.

Hi, greetings from Czechs of the Czech Republic to our distant cousins in the States!

I have recently compiled all available skins of Czech and Slovak pilots who flew for the Allies. You may find it here:

(It also contains the skins of La-5FNs of our airmen in the USSR: the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Fighter Air Regiment. This unit had two squadrons.)

And a brief history:

The unit was formed from former RAF Czech pilots and Slovak pilots who had flown for the Axis and then defected to Russians. (Our president Beneš thought the Russians would get to our territory faster than the Western Allies and he wanted to have a unit that would directly participate in our country's liberation.)

By the spring of 1944 the regiment had been proclaimed fully operational but it did not seen any action until there began an uprising in Slovakia. The unit was sent to aid the Slovaks in mid-September 1944 (they operated over the area of the uprising, well behind the front lines, so, they were a sort of air partisans), it helped the insurgents very much (the vast majority of the regimental air victories was scored there, but it could not turn the war-tide into a victory. When Germans were getting closer to the Tri Duby airfield, the regiment flew back to the soviet-held territory. They spent the winter by regrouping - another 2 units were formed - the 2nd Czechoslovak Independent Fighter Air Regiment (equipped with La-5FNs) and the 3rd Czechoslovak Independent Bomber Regiment (equipped with Il-2s) which together formed the 1st Czechoslovak Combined Air Division - the whole winter they trained and prepared for action in the area of Lvov. In April 1945 they were proclaimed fully operational and in mid-April they took part in the Ostrava operation - the fight for libertion of Czechoslovakia on Czechoslovak soil. (But they did not score many victories there, just some Fw-190s were claimed damaged).

The division was the first Czechoslovak foreign unit to return to Prague in May 1945.

Distant cousins for sure. Thanks for the website. The main page has much more than Czech stuff but pilots of many nations. I recognized some of the familiar czech surnames on the list by their distant relatives living here in Texas.

I have seen other sites with info on the CZ regiments but it's good to know that they were at Lvov in early '45. This won't be good for a historically accurate campaign so mine will have to be fiction. I was planning on making fictitious missions anyway. But now I can at least make a note and inform people about what the CZ regiments were doing at this time.

An Ostrava campaign will be hard to make due to map restrictions.

I was trying to persuade agracier to make the region of Silesia with Ostrava in it. Unfortunately, he is on holiday so I will continue with my persuasion when he gets back. I really would love to fight Jerries on our very own grounds (both with La-5FNs and Il-2s) :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: .

Your winter campaign for Slovakia will be interesting too, I will give it a try when it is out. There is never enough Czechoslovak campaigns.

I remember playing your "Battle for Odessa", which was pretty good. Do you ever plan to release part 2, as the the previous part was labelled "part 1"?

I think you Czech could support our Yugoslavs to finish some campaigns with air warfare over Yugoslavia. It is very interesting and we could all kill bloody Germans. One campaigns was made it is Dark Clouds over Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was like Czechoslovakia from every side we had enemies around and Germans always crushed our Slavic countries. We must repay them at least in game

Why don't your Serbian, Croatian or Slovenian fellows make some campaigns? The only thing that has ever been created was Dark clouds over Croatia...

Anyway I considered making a campaign of a Croatian pilot who would fly for the Royal Yugoslavian Air Force against Germans, Italians and Hungarians (+ maybe against Bulgarians), than he would fly for the Independent State of Croatia with the 15.(Kroat)/JG 52 on the Eastern front, after that he would fly against the RAF and the USAAF and later he would defect to Tito's partisans or possibly to the RAF or Soviets....

But now, Czech and Slovak campaigns are the top priority for me (+ some special campaigns I want to make for a long time: the Gran Chaco War, Vichy campaign in Madagascar and a Swiss campaign against both the Axis and Allies...) Later, maybe.

But I think you should give it a try too!
