Hey ,

I downloaded and installed the newest version of the AAA UI. Really great jop no question . Never the less, I have problems with some engine sounds and I hope, that nobody else has mentioned it allready. I tried the search function, but I couldnt get that problem. Some are very cracky and it disturbs me a lot. So is there a possibility to restore the original sounds of several aircrafts :???: I dont have such problems with the unmodded version of IL2.
I also discovered, that some aircrafts making great engine noise even when the engine isnt operational (I think it sounds like the noise of an running engine):o. After starting the engine that noise disappears and everything is just normal again.
Can you help me please?

Nauseatingly screaming RR Merlins and Naiper Sabres? I used this solution to save my ears:

Maybe couple of things will be still too loud, but gear retract does not last that long

Have you checked the volume of sounds in the game options ?

I had a cracking noise especially with the daimlerbenz and the griffon. The volume in game was at its highest and the sound was saturating...

You may want to use Jafaem sounds, it's pretty much the gold standard for those in the know about this sim.
You may still get the engine sound from a few aircraft while it is sitting parked, but this just momentary.
As far as the cracking or popping sound mostly noticed on Fw-190, Jafaem made a new engine sound for the new 190-A3 here at the site or it may be included with his downloads.

Hi,

You may want to try with disabeling extentions in your game setup.
Another thing you can do, is editting those sounds with a wav editor like Nero WaveEditor (there are free alternatives to be found on the web). It can be a bit tricky but if you know which sounds to edit, it works. You'll have to experiment a bit too and MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL FILES. As for the Tempest sound, there's also a nice sounding alternative somewhere on this forum but I don't honestly remember in which topic (= use the search function of this site).
Anyway, if you don't like to edit the sounds yourself, which I can fully understand, then I think the best thing to do is waiting for the new Jafa sounds that I read about later in one of the topics of this threat.

Thank you, it seems to work with [MOD]Original sounds & suppressed external engine sound.
