POLIKARPOV I-16 LANDING GEAR
#1

Hi everybody!

Sorry if this is a silly question, but it seems that I only can raise or lower I-16's undercarriage manually.

Is this a characteristic of this plane? or, do I have some bug to worry about?

Best regards,

JC

It's not a bug i think, because in every IL-2, where you could fly it, it was present, and if it was a bug, they would have fixed it

It is a Feature of the I16.

Same as the Wildcat then. What it simulates is the lack of hydraulic powered undercarriage that happened in some early WW2 planes. Instead, these aircraft had a manual winding system and that's why you can't raise or lower it with a switch.

Yes, the I-16 had a hand-cranked landing gear.

Thanks everybody!

It just seemed extrange to me that I-153, being an older airplane, has a landing gear that extends and retracts normally at the push of "G".
