How to bring out the description of a mission
#1

I have some missions I have downloaded that have the description in the properties file but doesn't show up when the mission is selected so you can tell what planes and how many of each in the mission.

If you use AAA 1.1 then you must change the properties file name like this:
If you have a Miss1.mis file then you must add a "_ru" suffix line to the end o the properties file, like this: Miss1_ru.properties

The other problem can be solved an easy way. In the full mission builder, you find a "Short Brief" section, if you fill this section with some information, then you see that information when you click on the misson. I "designed" a fully informable line in the short briefing section usually used for coop multiplayer missons:

FLY:
MIS:
OPFOR:
DEP:
TOT:
ETA:
WET:

FLY is for what type and quantity of flyable planes you have in the mission.
MIS is for what type of misson(s) will you preform like CAP, or CAS, or INC etc.
OPFOR is what types of enemy you are facing like: A6M2 / AAA, it is important because there is easy and hard missons out there If you want chalange then you (and your teammates) pick a harder mission, if you want some fun select an easyer. DEP: is take of time, TOT, is time ower target, and ETA is the esteminated time of the landing or end of the mission. The previous three is important because if you youst want fly a fun little mission, then you chose a shorter one.
At last the WET for weather for example Poor/1200.

A complet short brief looks like this:

FLY: 8 F6F-3 / 4 F4U-1D
MIS: CAP
OPFOR: Ki-61-I / A6M5c
DEP: 8:30
TOT: 8:45
ETA: 9:15
WET: Good/700

If you host or fly a single mission you will be at full knowledge what you can expect, like long or short, easy of hard, good or bad weather mission you will fly.

I hope i answerd your questions!

Well nothing seems wrong with this file, I've countered this problem twice, that the properties won't load in mission, but nothing seems to solve it...

Mechanist,
I'm glad you gave info on adding the "_ru" suffix to the mission files.

I know there are probably many newbies who don't know about this and can not see the words in briefings. I used to be one of them! It's frustrating and I suppose many just skip the mission and move on to something else that they can read.

Maybe this post will bring more awareness to the subject.
