I can continue to use my IL2 afterwards but it gets annoying after a while. Does anyone know of a fix or has had this problem. Please let me know.

Check if you have a virus om your computer. i had one that turned mine of every 30 min or so.
Also check the temp on your computer, clean all fans inside it for dust, use compressed air and have a vakume cleaner running as it can contain enourmouse amounts of dust. if you cant simply take it outside that is..

Also tell us what hardware you have and so on. easyer to tell whats wrong then

Restarting to me can be a sign of a bad power supply. With all those windings in the housing, it is possible that the manufacturer may have not done a good enough job in making the product. If your machine restarts if you are not playing IL-2, this may be a cause.

If you have the resources, you can pull the power supply and have it checked by a local shop to confirm this.

Good luck

It only does it in IL2. I checked for viruses and my computer turned up clean.
Heres my specs.
Nvidia 7600GT
2 gigs of ram
Intel quad core 4.6 GHZ processor
Windows Xp sp3
and IL2 1946 4.08M

Well as long as you powersupply isnt of the smalest size that graphic card doesnt suck that much juice.
Have you cleaned all dust from the heatsinks(gpu and cpu)? Also give the power supply a clean when you are on it.
And does it just happen in the IL2 game and not other games??
Im asking as if the GPU is being working hard under graphic pressure and therefor overheating.
You may check in your bios if it has a safty function that will power down the computer when a certain heat level has accured.

It only happens in IL2. My temps never run very hot, I think the hottest its gotten was 95 degrees. I don't know is that good or bad?

95 degrees celcius??? well thats hoot.
I think ive never been over 65 as i can remember.

there is a utillety at nvidia you can download and install that merges with nvidia control panel.
There you can set your fan speed.
I did this as my card was getting hot and it showed when i installed the program that the cards fan was only running at 30%. i put it up to 90% and the card went nice and cool. but sounded like a jet was landing!Smilelol
Well i use headphones so i dont notice when playing.

Ofcourse it may also be something inside the IL2 that makes your computer crash.
Install a new copy and just the UI 1.1 and no other mods and see if it continues!!

I would check the output voltage of my power supply first.
Then check each rail voltage. PC Wizard is a small program that is free and will read these voltage.

Your Temp is in a safe range. My runs about the same.

Exuse me but 95 degrees celcius is near the max heat that the graphic card can take so it will not be in the safe range at 95!!Smile
Well it dependes as each type of card can take less of more heat before giving up.
But the thumbrule is that the more heat it has the lower the performance.
It is for a reason people try to get theire computers as cold as possible.
The colder it is the more stable and the more performance you get.
The hotter it is the more unstable it gets and less performance..

So having a temp of 95 degrees celcius is a bit way to high i would say..

Have you accually looked at your heat sinks and cleaned them as i asked you to do??

Download and try the PC wizard thingie and try it out. i just did my gpu was at 68 degrees while fan running at 30%( the wizard says it was running at 100 % but not right.
