I enjoy the new cockpits but i thought i would point something out that kind of bugs me, in the 47_late
I'm not sure how complex modding is, and maybe there is already a fix for this, so don't take offense.

I was also hoping the site could match the same integrity as the original reticule, as far as image quality.
These pics were shot at 1024x768 resolution, (full zoom) but you can still see the modded one is more pixelated...(?)

It looks like the P-38 reticule, but it seems to be a bit smaller and is also a little rough in the pixels.




I overlayed them so you could see the difference in size. Its weird but the smaller reticule actually throws my aiming a little bit.

The reticle is one on the easier things to change. Restoring the original reticle would just be a matter of replacing a tga file. The K14 sight was taken from the P51D which also has a small reticle, thus the small size. There is no great difficulty in making it larger though. I will reconsider the reticles in the next release. It is generally possible to change the reticle to suit your taste. Catahoulak has some mods that do this.

i was thinking of just copying the p-38 reticle and replacing the one thats in there now. Its the same reticle just bigger.
If you could tell me how to do that, that would be swell.

I'm not sure if anyone has also suggested adding a dorsal fin to the late P-47, being as thats what distinguished the finished variant (47-D-30) airframe.


Anyway, it would be cool to see that fin.

The P-47D-Late is actually just a P-47D-27 with a different gunsight. The Dorsal fin you are talking about would likely be for the P-47N I believe? Could be wrong though.

The P-47D-Late is actually just a P-47D-27 with a different gunsight. The Dorsal fin you are talking about would likely be for the P-47N I believe? Could be wrong though.

The way it was explained to me makes a lot of sense, but im not sure if its true.
Basically, there is a P-47D-27 modeled as such, and there is a P-47 Late variant which is supposed to be representative of variants after the D-27.

The P-47D-30 had a dorsal fin as did the P-47N, however the Ns fin is much more pronounced.
