Hi,
I just got my new computer and installed IL-2 1946 and when I got done installing it that menue comes up and asks if you want to start the game. I clicked start and the game started and worked fine. I set the all the settings for graphics and then quit out of the game. Then I went into the conf.ini and set water to 3. Then i went to staRT game up again and I double clicked the icon to start the game and nothing happens. I went back into the conf.ini and set water back to 1. I went to start the game again and it still wouldn't work.
Someone please help!

What or did you get any type of message????
I didn't get any message the game just wouldn't start after I quit out of it the first time. I am running an Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 overclocked 216 core. What settings in the il2setup thing would you use for best results?
Thanks,
liamp51
The only time something similar happened to me was because I had set the resolution wrong... aside from that I haven't any other suggestions. Hope you get it sorted.
Well I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and then it worked fine but it wouldn't let me select perfect settings? :???: :???: . This is making me very mad. Anybody give me some of the best settings for the Nvidia Geforce GTX 260?
Thanks,

That is the last part of my conf.ini - back yours up and replace the open_gl section with this one, it is apparently the maximum settings available.

also check ATTEMP STENCIL BUFFER.
Hi,
I reinstalled again and I get perfect settings now. I wasn't selecting the right screen res before. Is there a water 4 setting?
Thanks,
