Hello guys,
I have a picture of a lost P-51 Mustang aircraft called "Wings of Corry" from my hometown of Corry, Pennsylvania that I found in my local museum. I was wondering if you guys had any info or anything on the whereabouts of this particular aircraft or any related info. Thanks.

Its paintscheme looks like a blue-ish and look at background in picture. Pretty naval to me

Okay, but the US Navy did not usually fly P-51s or did they? Then again, the photo is faded from age. So that's probably why it would have that appearance if it's a faded and dated photo. Looks like a land base to me. As far as I can tell.

Do you have any proof? They US Army Air Force usually flew P-51s in the Pacific. So, if it was stationed in Florida, then how did it end up in Corry, Pennsylvania?

I looked at the photo too and what i see are not palm tress but heavy equipment and what appear to be sister mustangs parked in front of hangars. While this could still be a Pacific based acft, it more likely appears to be ETO based and the paint scheme Olive Drab over gray. Unfortunately the acft serial number is not visible, but appears to have been painted around rather than re-stenciled. That might suggest the acft was silver and then painted cammo at the deployed location. Too bad the museum didn't a little more info on the picture in question.

Many p 51 groupe was base in china and pacific theatre.......Like the 75 th FS 23 th FG.....

You see this one seem to be one too
