IL-2 Weapons Lists
#1

Hello,

Maybe someone will know, however I was skimming through all the Read Me stuff in the game and with all the addons and there is no text or literature associated with the air-to-ground weapons in the game. Does anyone know of a good site or file that discusses and talks about all the weapon and bomb models in the game? Example the PTAB-2.5-1.5 cassettes for the IL-2. The damage and recommended way to use and release them ? I am not talking about writing all the weapons down and looking them up in Wiki either.

Any help would be great..

Thanks

I'd watch my step there 2010, you're on the border of what's allowed here on the site with this post, as this can quickly turn into a weapons mod tread.

I will be monitoring this one closely. Any step over the line with the policy regarding weapons mods, and this will be locked.

Hardballs Aircraft Viewer provides a weapons summary.
Get it at Mission4Today.com
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ils&id=325

Very useful if you want to better understand what loadout to take for each mission.

Example:

Germany:
-----------------------------------

AB-250:
Type: Air burst munition dispenser carrying "SD-2" antipersonnel fragmentation bombs or "SD-4" hollow-charge antitank munition. AB-250 could carry 144 SD-2s or 30 SD-4s. It could also accommodate 224 tiny "SD-1" munitions, 17 "SD-10" bombs, 184 "B-1" incendiaries, or 116 "B-2" steel-nosed incendiaries.
Weight: 250 kg

AB-500:
Type: Air burst munition dispenser carrying SD-2 antipersonnel fragmentation bombs or SD-4 hollow-charge antitank munition.
Weight: 500 kg

Thanks man that is almost exactly what I was looking for however I didnt really feel like jumping through all those hoops to download it. Just a simple text file maybe with some pictures...........Heck, Maybe it will give me something to do and create one with alot of help from other people. I Just wanted something with maybe pictures of the weapons, pictures of them detonating and then a summary of what they were used for as well as the damage that they do and how to deploy them and on what aircraft....DID NOT WANT TO USE WIKI

and dont worry arctic i DID NOT WANT THIS TO BE A WEAPON MOD talk..........just for info chill out

Thanks again

Thank you for that

I am completely chilled out and calm, I just put the line down so if crossed... you know the rules, I'm pretty sure.

Viper, perhaps you were a little too fast to draw a line at all though?

He was simply asking for something like a word document explaining the weapons and their uses, not game files. He doesn't in any way want to modify the weapons, nor did his post suggest that was even a possibility.

Just saying, I know you weren't really threatening just year, and I don't want to start a fight, especially with an admin who I know has done a wonderful job throughout my time here and before. There's just some times when the "Don't take this any further" comment isn't quite necessary just yet.

A file like this is sorely needed though. The viewer only says so much and it is missing some of the newer weapons that are now included with some of the new aircraft.

Thanks for the compliment Spartan, I appreciate it. Big Grin

Well, I didn't indend to come across as harsh as I did, but again this is a forum and it can be tricky to get a message across the way it was intended.

I just stated it because I found the original post to be a bit indirect, but I don't think there's been any harm done, just doing my job

Alright. Well since I see that there are several of us that are wondering the same thing, I was wondering maybe I could start maybe a work in progress as a document file, and then maybe upload it to Google Documents and that way anybody can add to or fix or critique the text. Also we can add screenshots and other stuff as well as delivery methods and instructions. When all said and done I can Maybe create a .pdf as a finished copy and it can be sort of a very Rough Weapons Manual............

Just a thought

Thanks guys.

Sounds like a good idea, just make sure to use proper sources, not wikipedia

That's the most common mistake when researching, seeing as wikipedia is good for reference in general, but hasn't really got the integrety of a non-editable source.
