Making Sounds for Il-2, How to?
#1

Hi guys!

Over on the SAS forums I made a post recently about acquiring some new P-38 Allison sounds. The ones in the UI are rather rubbish to me and what I've heard else where.

Now a person there directed me to some one. Who makes P-38 models for FS2004 and FSX. Supposedly he has the most realistic sounds possible. And I have them now.

So now what I would like help with is getting them into the game. I need to know how the PRS file works, What size, length and type of files do the sounds need to be.

Any one who would like to help me with this project will be greatly appreciated.

Time the 38 got a bit more beefy!

Salute ALL hi ;-)

I can't help on this, but here is the info we got for CK's new sounds.
It needs to be .wave format PCM, bit rate about 705 some go up to 1411.
Hope that helps some.

Hi Deutschmark ~S~

Are those only for CK's sounds? And are those the same settings for normal Il-2 sounds?

That is what we found inside the IL2 sound mod's folder, so we went with that.

talk to jafa who does great sounds, I have his sounds for the P-38 right now on my computer. He did a whole pack to replace pretty much everything in the UI. He's pretty much the top man for sound on il2 Wink

There is 1 big thing you have to be very very careful about..

It's called Copyright.

So I surely hope those sounds are'nt from any paid addon or copyrighted in any way.
As a game sound modder for a few C&C and Half-Life mods, i've seen plenty trouble with that.

Copy Right is all sorted so dont worry about that. Ive had enough experience with it within art work aswell.

Thats not what I asked. I'd rather be showed or told how. Not give it to some one else and have them do all of it.
