Hi,

I hope I'm in the right forum...
I want to mod IL-2 and I read in other forums that it's possible to change nearly everything (for example physics, or realism settings) in the game by modding the .SFS files.
Well, I've got the SFS extractor but the files in the SFS's are encoded. How can I decode these files and change things?

thanks

many greetings

open each sfs file with sfs extractor and extract all of them to a new location. for example: C:\IL2 MODS\

then you will find all the files you need, this will be another 5GB in your hard drive. If you extract the map sfs files as well then that will be even more. You can delete the java class files that come out when u extract it so for example if you extracted it into C:\IL2 MODS\ you will get a 3do folder inside the IL2 MODS folder. everything in the IL2 MODS folder can be deleted except for the 3do folder.

Friction is right. All talk of changing the damage model or the flight model is forbidden here (to avoid cheating online). It would be wrong for someon to publicly tell you how to change what you want because then others could attempt to do the same an cheat online. PM Monguse or someone and they will tell you the basics of what you can/can't do.

I'll lock this to avoid further discussion Wink
