[VIDEO] Frank Tinker: an American Pilot in Spanish Civil War
#1

This is a video I did as a gift for a spanish veteran pilots association (ADAR), so they could send it to USA to be played in a homage to Frank Tinker. The early version of this video was seen in that homage, made aroud his grave. Here's a report about then:

[quote]In a ceremony last Saturday, the City of DeWitt honored Frank Tinker, thought of by many around the world as the greatest American mercenary of the Spanish Civil War. Family and admirers from California made the trip to take part in the ceremony held at the DeWitt Cemetery, while admirers from around the world sent gifts and proud words of the late Arkansas pilot. Mayor Aubrey McGhee proclaimed Saturday

I've intensively used mods for this one, but the gasoline falling when plane is damaged on the ground... that's by default in IL-2 from long time ago Wink

It would be nice. The Hucks starting system is not present in any mod, so I asked an illustrator (Isaac Montoya) if he could paint it over an image, and there you have it. Smile

This must have been a lot of puzzle work, to get those scenes right (camera angles) and it works very well, I dont know how you did it.
I just want to say it's a very very good movie, a great way to remember Frank Tinker.

My hat off! Great movie. And a great tribute to a true American Hero.

I noticed, between the other features, that the Nationalist Biplanes are in fact Cr.42s with the nose of the Typhoon / Tempest, to make them look a bit as the FIAT Cr.32. The effect is very convincing, and only the difference of the tail shape of the real things warned me that it was actually a "make-up".

I would like to know if the so reworked FIAT Cr.42 is an available MOD or it was done differently?

Thank you.

Tuckie

You ventured with new grounds here..very bold step!

Just some aspects I have noticed: check the colour, relative motion and scale matching when superimposing the IL2 CGI objects on real world images..... I know this is very time consuming and difficult but essential..,

But well done for a first effort! Big Grin

Very interesting in terms of your combining media layers, Tuckie.
I see those beautiful and various background sky plates and I know that sooner or later some clever modder will get more towards that in Il 2.
Really good atmosphere.
As to the subject matter, I'd love to have more info about Tinker, and the SCW in general, included in the film, perhaps in a narrator, first or third person, or in a text in a letterbox below.
I think your visuals continue to break ground, but because I am aging and old school to boot, I want info with my pics.
Just my ten pesos worth.

I look forward to the next ones.
