Can't play, can't save FMB missions in Canon's Channel map
#1

Hello everybody,
I am afraid I am continuing a discontinued thread here, but I would certainly appreciate some advise; I d/loaded Canon's new Channel map (Masterpiece!!!!), everything OK, I can open all versions of the map, I can fly over the map in QMB, but I can't save new missions in FMB, neither can I play available missions (like Poltava's Fighter Boys); I can "open" them, can't play or save them; I went through EVERY page of the thread, followed instructions (ps. eliminate the double 'b"), to no avail; all my mods are in place. (I actually use them in other missions I create) I can see the map, fly over it in QMB, take snapshots, nothing else... How can I play/save missions?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the advice; I checked meticulously my static.ini file, everything is in order (as I mentioned already, I use the stuff in other missions). Every single line is there...

at the bottom right above the line that looks like this:

//===========================================================================
// eof
do the same thing with the RoadMod insertini.txt and the BranToc Tow objects static_ini.txt
go look at the last line of text above that that looks like this:
3do/airfield/bbitumenearth/Turn/mono.sim
and remove the extra b that I underlined,

Now Canon's Read Me has some of this already but this is for those of

Grab this tool from Zipzapp and run it, it'll tell you if you are missing anything.

Thanks Quelty. I followed your instructions, ran the program, and I got "Missing object: House$Grass_Pen" and "Missing object: House$T2_Hangar". Any ideas where these come from?

I think they are stock objects, so I don't know exactly where they come from... I've zipped up the 2 folders concerned and uploaded to the link below (about 1.3MB).

The T2_Hangar folder belongs in
.../mods/objectsMap/3do/Buildings/Industrial/

The Grass_Pen folder goes in
.../mods/objectsMap/3do/Buildings/Pacific/

Hope this helps

EDIT: did some digging around and those objects are part of Canon's Beta Channel map - you can get it here;

OK, I had a go; I don't have the folders you suggested as paths (I don't have UI ), so I followed this path, Mods/STD/3do/Buildings, and I created two subgfolders, one "Industrial" for the T2-Hangar and one "Pacific" for House$Grass_Pen. I reloaded the map, couldn't save mission. Do I need to add some lines in my static ini as well? Which lines and where exactly? Sorry for pestering you with questions but you seem to master the situation. Many thanks, 8)

I nw noticed the last part of your answer; d/loading Canon's beta map now..

Problem with Canon's beta map.exe. Can't extgract it to temp folder (no 'extract' option) and I don;t want to ran the installer in case it messes with the game. Is there a way to unzip that folder?

double click the exe, it'll ask for the game's location, just point it at a temp folder
