Back in the late 60's Early 70's these used to fly over my house all the time

What.
Deac Wrote:Yeah, I know all this and I'm not quite sure you know why people have been criticizing me. I go above and beyond the normal "call of duty," if you will, to support the Mustang, particurally the less common ones that haven't necessairly been added to the Mustang Collection official list yet. It's not because you're "supporting the Mustang"...which is fine, if a bit of a bizarre concept. It's because you seem to think that Lt. Wolf owes you these things or that "fighting" to have something released will ever achieve anything other than to annoy the modder concerned. By all means politely request a particular aircraft...but requesting the 30-odd variants of the Mustang that you listed in the Mustang thread at first or even the 18 (!) variants you're still proposing is frankly ridiculous. A good start would have been to say, "hey Lt. Wolf, here's some information about the P-51K variant that actually had improved performance over the contemporary D-models once Aeroproducts got their act together, would you consider making it?", not "here's a list of basically every extant and theoretical Mustang variant, I think you should make those". I really want to see a deHavilland Hornet in the game for some twin-engined '46 fun-times (and indeed there's a Hornet F 1 tentatively in progress), but I wouldn't go into that thread and say, "Hey, that's really cool, but would you make the F 3, the FR 4, the PR 2, the Sea Hornet F 20, NF 21 and PR 22 as well?". If Lt. Wolf WANTS to make these many variants of the Mustang that you endlessly rave about, I'm sure he will, but if he doesn't want to, he won't, and he doesn't owe it to you to do so, and indeed it's very likely that nothing you say will sway his decision one way or another. This isn't like passing a law or something you know, "fighting" is not the word you want to use if you want a modder to make something. You just need to change your perspective on what you're doing. Going "above the call of duty" in badgering someone to give you their hard work and spare time to produce goodies for you to enjoy is hardly something to brag about. Just chill out, that's all. It's not that you're really annoying anyone yet, I guess, it's just bewildering that you can't understand the basic dynamic that exists between modders and the people that download and enjoy their work. :???: Your enthusiasm is commendable, I just think it would be helpful for you to understand why everyone finds your attitude so bizarre.
Deac Wrote:I've also seen perfectly good aircraft ideas get tossed aside, because they weren't clearly justified...I'm sure you're right, usually it comes down to whether or not a modder wants to do it or not, though, not whether the AAA fanbase considers the aircraft as a justifiable addition to the game..."justification is in the eye of the downloader", most often. Most often, people complain about an aircraft being pointless or unjustified AFTER work has begun on it, it seems. Doesn't seem to stop Slow from producing loads of Luft '46 stuff despite the whines. I think the issue there is that usually there's little to no data from which to base a credible FM for many of these theoretical aircraft that are perceived as unjustified.
Deac Wrote:Now, if the lot of you would kindly drop the whole Mustang subject, it would be greatly appreciated. It gets old to be called commendable, but crazy...Gladly.
