you can change whether the heads up display (showing speed, alt, height) shows km + m, miles + feet, kts + feet. Just find the correct entry in the controls configuration and assign a key to it.

It's the Speedbar command in the controls. Assign a key to it and you can cycle between meters and feet, KPH, KIAS, and MPH. You can even turn it off completely.

Add this to the end of your config.ini file and it will display MPH and Feet as the default:

[Mods]
SpeedbarUnits=3
SpeedbarSpdKMH=1
SpeedbarSpdMPH=1
SpeedbarSpdKnots=1
SpeedbarAltMeters=1
SpeedbarAltFeet=1
SpeedbarTAS=1


This will also work for 4.09M.
