Credits: (in no particular order)
- PeterD - 3D models, UV mapping, importing, skins, class coding
Lt.Wolf - Improved/tweaked/refined flight models and engine models
Flakiten - Original aircraft slot and a lot of help with the classes
US_GRANT - Great skin templates!
UF_Josse - pointed out error in the M3 .50cal ammo, which I think it's fixed now (thanks Josse!)
Narvik - info on the MiG-15
GJE52 - Joint effort to fix the nose gear bounce problem!
anyone else I missed (please let me know) and of course everyone from previous releases
What's changed
- -New F-86F-25E and F86F-25L (they look the same as the A model for now), 25E model is for the early F models with slatted wing, 25L model is the late 'fixed', bigger wing
-New MiG-17, early version (looks like the MiG-15 model for now)
-New afterburner effect for the Mig-17 done by Lt.Wolf
-Fixed a bug in some materials
-MiG-15(bis), removed automatic airbrakes. If you want to have them, use the MiG-15(bis)Late model instead. Performance-wise they are the same for now.
-Fixed the silly, annoying bug with the Sabres bombs (they work now and the AI should be able to use them correctly aswell)
-Fixed several bugs with the MiG-15, including, but not limited to, blowing the tail off would not result in loss of elevator and rudder controls.
-Changed the weapons in the MiG-15 so that the main trigger fires all guns instead of having separate controls.
-Sabres, improved ground handling, in particular the nose should not bounce, unless you are going cross-country of course.
-Minimum 'nerf' to M3 .50cals, removed the explosive from the ammo, so its APIT/API now.
-Sabres, improved the gear extend/retract sequence a bit more, so that the rear gear inner door wells will close once the gear is fully extended
-Migs, Sabres, while going at transonic speeds, aircraft handling will degrade progressively (this is a bit experimental, and varies from plane to plane). The extent of the 'effect' is affected by aircraft type, height, and atmospheric conditions.
-Migs, Sabres, while going at transonic speeds, the cockpit will gradually shake more the faster you go, particularly noticeable in the MiGs.
-Possibly more stuff that I've forgotten I added.
-No new cockpits yet, and no they don't open in cockpit-view, only in external view.

HSFX 4.1 "mini fix", description is:No457_Squog Wrote:S! Guys,
I've created a little batch file which not only fixes the "Realistic Bomb/Torp. Fusing" class file misplacement issue, but creates the new aircraft's skins folders.
The usage of the batch file is very simple: place it in your root IL-2 '46 directory, and double-click it. It will then prompt you through the changes it will make automagically.

How to install the aircraft:
- Both aircrafts come with a self-installer. They need AAA's Unified Installer 1.2 in order to work properly.
When installing the aircrafts, make sure you select IL2 Sturmovik 1946's root folder, DO NOT SELECT THE MODS FOLDER.
To select the aircraft, they should appear in your aircraft's list under the letters M (for the MiG) and F (for the Sabre).
How to install the F-86A-5 manually:
- ______________________________________________________________________________________
1) Open the autoinstaller file with WinRAR.
Once it's opened in WinRAR, right-click on the folder called "MODS",
Select "Extract to the specified folder".
Now select your IL2 STURMOVIK folder in the pop-up window.
Example: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL2 Sturmovik 1946\
Extract the files.
Make sure it looks like this once it's extracted:
Code:...\IL2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\F-86A-5 Sabre\...
\3DO\
\presets\
\Samples\
\...\
______________________________________________________________________________________
2) Add the following line in air.ini:
(usually found in MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\)
Code:F-86A5 air.F_86A5 NOINFO usa01 SUMMER
______________________________________________________________________________________
3) Add the following line in plane_ru.properties:
(usually found in MODS\STD\i18n\)
Code:F-86A5 F-86A-5 Sabre, 1949
______________________________________________________________________________________
4) Add the following lines in weapons_ru.properties:
(usually found in MODS\STD\i18n\)
Code:#####################################################################
# F-86A-5 Sabre
#####################################################################
F-86A5.default Default
F-86A5.2x207gal 2x207 gal. Droptanks
F-86A5.2x120gal 2x120 gal. Combat Droptanks
F-86A5.2x1000lbs 2x1000 lbs. Bombs
F-86A5.none Empty
How to install the MiG-15 manually:
- ______________________________________________________________________________________
1) Open the autoinstaller file with WinRAR.
Once it's opened in WinRAR, right-click on the folder called "MODS",
Select "Extract to the specified folder".
Now select your IL2 STURMOVIK folder in the pop-up window.
Example: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL2 Sturmovik 1946\
Extract the files.
Make sure it looks like this once it's extracted:
Code:...\IL2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MiG-15(bis)\...
\3DO\
\presets\
\Samples\
\...\
______________________________________________________________________________________
2) Add the following line in air.ini:
(usually found in MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\)
______________________________________________________________________________________Code:MiG-15(bis) air.Mig_15bis 1 NOINFO r01 SUMMER
3) Add the following line in plane_ru.properties:
(usually found in MODS\STD\i18n\)
Code:Mig-15(bis) MiG-15(bis), 1950
How can I add more skins for the planes?
- If you used the autoinstaller, it will create the folders for you; just drop the new skins into the correct folders (see below). If you installed the aircraft manually, these are the skin folders:
- PaintSchemes\Skins\F-86A5
- PaintSchemes\Skins\MiG-15(bis)
Requirements:
- Right now you need AAA's Unified Installer 1.2 for them to work. Once AC_INSTALLER3.9 is out, you will be able to use them with it aswell.
Download them here
Are you using SAS buttons 2.21? Then you'll need this patch aswell
elephant Wrote:PS This is the fix for those using SAS buttons and the new F-86A-5.
Just copy this file in your F-86A-5 directory, replacing the original hashed java file of same name.
