Operation Sealion - The Invasion of England(Zuti MDS)
#1

The first of 4 missions to be played by two opposing teams, where the outcome determines the next mission to be played(rotation).
This mission can also be played as a re flyable single mission or co-op, on or offline.
I've only tested this mission online with a few friends, so any feedback would be appreciated & as it would help me to develop the next three missions:wink:
Sealion-1 is for people who have the Halifax & Typhoon.
Sealion-1a is for people who don't have the Halifax & Typhoon(B24J & Tempest).

Update for those who want the radar function (the radar works when Map icons are off), download here - http://www.4shared.com/file/142067585/7 ... date_.html

For use with Canon's new UK Channel map, I assume?

Also, I never fly on-line...

What does this line mean from the Readme:
"To play (on-line or off line) > multi play > create new server > create > mission type > load."

I'd like to fly these msns offline, so ny help would be appreciated.

No mate, I thought it might be too laggy, but I'll see how it goes & maybe redo this & the next three missions using his new map. Smile

On the Main Menu > click "Multiplay" > click "Create new Server" > Game type - Dogfight - click "Create" > Mission Type - Missions - click "Load"

If you would like a friend or two to join you online, start the mission as above.
Then tell them to click on "Multiplay" > click "Join Server" > type in your IP & click "Join"

Perhaps there are some people wjo do not realise that we are able to simulate on-line play whilst remaining off-line by creating our own server and running coop and dogfight missions by themselves...

Is this for the latest .8v. final...rather than the old version in the UI1.2..?

Yes Fred, that's what I thought & that's why I gave more detailed player/host instructions in my previous reply
But I do appreciate your comments, because you've explained it better than I did. Lets face it this mod is wonderful for mission builders, because you can test the missions offline by simulating on-line play. Although I did have a player join once, because I was testing a mission, whilst still connected to the Internet Confusedhock:

If you download the mission, I have included Zuti's latest 0.8 final that he updated/patched for me(17-10-2009), because of problems I was having with cannons map. So the version I have included is the very latest at the time of writing this, that you probably can't download anywhere else Big Grin

Thanks for the updated 0.8 version
I played the first mission by selecting a Beaufighter and knocking hell out of the German forces on their beachhead...then got a 109 which was poking around....

One question about making missions for the MDS and using the radar function....do I select map icons off or on in the difficulty setting?

No worries mate
Yep it's good fun, but personally I prefer the Typhoon/Tempest for knocking out enemy armour, or on the blue side the Me 410 with that big gun Confusedhock:

The radar function works with the map icons off(NoMapIcons enabled), use object 82 & it must be inside a base circle to work

I didn't include the radar function in this mission, as the destruction of ground targets is critical to the outcome.

OK, I've updated the two missions, for those who want the radar function, download here - http://www.4shared.com/file/142067585/7 ... date_.html

Oops I made a mistake !
The three views picture I included was the wrong one, it was something I bunged in at the last minute. I didn't even include an explanation of what it was about !
So here goes, it's easier to spot the enemy vehicles & armour with the video mode on Excellent, than it is with the video mode on Perfect. With flushy's bumpification mod it's not only much nicer, with more of a 3D effect(IMHO), there are also extra trees, so it's even harder to see the enemy armour & vehicles.
