I have two version's of the Game,one is called "IL2 sturmovik" ,with a few planes,and i have "il2 sturmovik forgotten battles", could some one please tell me where to get the proper mods for these games,because the guys i am talking to only have mods for "il2 sturmovik 1946",and i am annoyed that i cant play online,i have the ip addresses,and im getting messages saying up date to 4.08 from the servers,do i have to go out there and buy il2 sturmovik 1946,and im really annoyed,nothing is kept simple these days,could some one who has forgotten battles,or the basic sturmovik please explain.....it will be greatly appreciated!,i really want to play online.

I think you will find that most servers are running at least v4.08. Forgotten battles has progressed into 1946 which is v4.07 and patched up to at least 4.08 to fly online at HL. There may be others out there who use 4.05 but....

The Unified Installer (UI) is flexible and allows you to run anything from 4.08 to 4.09 with mods. In order to use these mods you will need to obtain a copy of 1946 and patch up to 4.08. Then read the instructions.

...and IL-2 Sturmovik and Forgotten Battles are really old...sorry to say...
so, it's what Groundfire said...if you really want to play online, you'll have to buy the version that people online are using.

You can buy the IL-2Sturmovik 1946 download online from ubi.com for something like 10 bucks. Not sure where the best source wold be in the UK, but I'm sure there is one.

As Bulau has said you really will need the latest version to play online.

It is version 4.07 out of the box but upgrading to 4.08 is free once you have 1946
