Hello,
I have 1 HDD split in 2 virtual partitions. C: is for Windows (40GB), D: is for everything else (data+ games)
I have XP now. If I want to install Windows 7 do I have to format the whole thing, or is it possible/ enough to format C: ?
Thanks,
Greg
No need to format..... install the Win7 onto C
But what if I wanted to? Is it possible to format C: and only C: upon installing 7?
Of course its possible to format only c - and by the way its better to have a fresh windows running - all things on d won`t work after installing win on a formated c cause they must be installed to a windows to work - except - pics, textdokuments, m`3`s etc. IL-2 also will work if you run it with the Non-CD.exe
One thing to consider is that you can not do an UPGRADE in place from XP to Win 7.
You can still use an UDGRADE version of 7, but it WILL format the C: Partition as a part of the install, so you will actually get a 'clean' install rather than an update install.
You would be well advised to make sure that you save anything (favorites, address bools, etc.) that you wish to keep from your XP install, to your D: partition so that you don't lose it.
