Flakiten has released the F-84G wth the KB-29 Tanker... it works for air refueling. I do not believe the F86 was ever refueld in the air in Korea.. but the F84 was refueled on some combat ops late in the war.

And let's not forget what else they decided. It was not worth the risk to the pilot and aircraft, though they did not state that explicedly. The benefits simply did not outweigh the risk.

The F86, Does it have the increased firing rate of the Browning M3 .50 cal MG's?
IIRC the Sabres used this weapon over Korea mostly (ignoring the 20mm GunVal project) and the M3 fired approx 1200 rounds per minute, compared to the M2, that fired about 750-800rpm.

I just tested it. Sabre has 270 rounds per gun (1620 total), and empties the guns in about 14 seconds, which makes the firing rate around 1200 rpm.

Yeah, after a number of flights in the Sabre, i concur Hehe..

Now i can see why some complained about the insufficient hittingpower of the .50 cal, at least over 35000 feet (less air, less combustion of the API round..)

Fun plane to fly tho! Although i the Mig15 seems faster, climbs better and is more maneuverable in almost every aspect of flight, which i guess is quite realistic compared to the early Alpha model..

just a little note....muzzle flashes in mig15 are a bit overdone....they cover the whole windshield....

Thank you so much for the great planes . But I have a problem. I am making some missions for the F86, but there is some prolem whit droping bombs. I cant drop my bombs whit my flightstick, It works whit all other planes. The AI also dont drop boms in my mission (it do if I change to another plane). Hope you can help. Exept this problen, the F86 and Mig 15 are super great fun planes, thanks

I can't speak to why the AI's will not drop bombs, but I know why human players can't drop bombs. You have to use the rocket button to drop the bombs. I found that out by accident when I too tried to drop bombs. I hit the bomb drop button on my joystick and got nothing so I hit the rocket button just for giggles and they came right off.

The rocket button aye? That workt, thanks . Then it was the question for why the AI messes up. Have to test more tomorow.

I did just test this and it is an actual bug. What's more serious is how the AI actually attacks with the bombs. I reported the bug on the F-86 'Issues' thread.

Thanks for taking it to the F-86 bug thread . Good to know it was not me doing some wrong in the mission builder, but to bad its a serius bug. Have to change much of my missions

i think these two aircraft are fantastic.

just one question. after having installed them i can no longer get onto the spits v 109 mod or zekes v wildcats servers

i get the dreadded CRT=2 error.

do the addition of these aircraft block u in some way from getting on these sites?

Lovin the F86 and MiG15 stuff so much I took the time to generate the data files for IL2C. Here is the link

From that I did a few screen captures

TURN TIMES

At speeds less than 350kph (217mph) @ 1,000m (3,280ft) the F86 turns better than the MiG15, for example at 310kph it takes the F86 ~31.9 seconds and the MiG15 takes ~33.0 seconds

RATE OF CLIMB

At all altitudes the MiG15 climbs better than the F86

SPEED

At all altitudes the F86 is faster than the MiG15

PS this data was collected on Bury's STD map so direct comparisons can be made to real world data in STD format.
