Online Host/Client Compatibility
#1

I have two related but still very simple questions for the experts. Here is the scenario.

We have 2 Players...A and B. They both have a CLEAN install of UI 1.2. Now, Player A installs a new plane that he sees on AAA, lets say Flakiten's F-84G. Player B DOES NOT install the F-84G.

The 2 questions:

1. If Player A then hosts an online coop mission or DF server but DOES NOT place the F-84 in either one, will Player B still be able to join?

2. If Player A then hosts an online coop mission or DF server and DOES place the F-84 in both, will Player B still be able to join?

I think ... Yes, provided CRT is off

I think ... Yes, provided CRT is off, but player B will not see the F-84 in the game.

Hello Avair, I am no expert but I do host alot of Korea coops and dogmaps and I can say without question that If you do not have the planes installed that the mission requires you will not be able to join. I do have crt=2 enabled to hopefully insure compatability and many times had players join only to get load error F-80A or whatever plane they do not have. Same with the dog maps. Hope this helps with your question.

It all depends on whether you host with CRT=2 or not. If you have CRT=2 enabled in your conf.ini, then anyone joining must have the same Mods. If you don't run with CRT=2, then the only limitation is game version and ZUTI DSMod version (which does its own version check)

If someone joins a server (without CRT=2) which has an aircraft on the map that they don't have, they simply will not see it. They won't see it on the arming screen list, and they won't see it in the game when it shoots them down. Otherwise, there is no issue with joining the server and flying the mission, as long as there is at least one aircraft on the map that they have installed.

Ok, I guess I should have mentioned the CRT setting. In this scenario, I'll say that no CRT setting is used.
