Funny that, I have just been collecting skins to make the self same campaign and now you have saved me all the effort and I can just go off and fly it.

Thanks very much Big Grin

I loaded this campaign and find no map on the briefing page. I have the Canon's Channel map working ok on my Biggin Hill Wing campaign but nothing here.

Ishmael - the Biggin Wing uses the beta version. You'll need to download my final release (see Maps Download forum)

Campaign loads fine, all goes well, fly the first mission, tell it to apply. The next time I get into the game, the screen with the campaigns on it says I have flown no missions. Have to go through the film strip again, first mission, etc., same result. Have I done something incorrectly? Funny thing is, the Fighterboys campaign acts exactly the same. Can it have something to do with both campaigns using Canon UK's most excellent map?

Any advice/help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

There is a problem with your map install. I saw it on one of my installations when I was testing this campaign. My install that failed was one that did not include the UI. There is an object in the UI install that you do not have and is needed by the map.

If your installation does not include the UI, and you have the disk space, I would recommend making a second installation, with the UI, and then install the map per the instructions.

Or

You can try some of the tools they have here at AAA to try to discover the object that is missing from your system. I have not tried those yet.

Or

You can copy the missions to the single mission folder and fly them individually. I "went to school" on Poltava's great Fly Boys campaign, and thought I might see this issue. I named and built the mission files to display in order; but something intangible is lost in not flying in campaign mode I think.

Gotten pardon me for my further questions, sometime my 67 yr old mind doesn't comprehend very well. I do have the U.I. already installed. So you think I need to install the map again? If I do that, does it overwrite everything I have now? As for tools to detect missing stuff, can you give me any idea where they are or what they might be called? That sounds like a good idea. Far as making them single missions, heck, I don't have any problems with that, but I agree with you, they seem to be better in a campaign. I'm gonna take a look at all these things, and if you want, I'll get back to you if I get it to work.

Thank you for your time and patience with an old guy, who ain't real smart.

No, I wouldn't install the map again. I just thought you might have had the same problem I had.

Have you read through the Canon map thread? There are some fixes for common problems there (see the first post in particular, in contains the solutions to common problems including the inabaility to save missions):

http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...63&start=0

Fly_zo also posted some advice at the end of that thread; I will summarize here so you don't have to read all 39 pages:

1 paratrooper mesh error = resolved by enabling S3TC texture compression ( IL2 setup / config.ini)

for that you can blame 1C and game engine cos such huge populated map isn't suppose to be in IL2 at the first place

2 totally wrong instructions for installation of BranToc_objets_ToW mod

file structure for his objects should be :

...\MODS\objects_TOW (or whatever you like)\3do\Buildings\ToW\

I hope/guess you will find that one of these issues is causing your problem.

That's a very good hint vonofterdingen!

I've changed the BranToc_objets_ToW mod to this location and it seems to be working. I've flown the first mission of your campaign and it has saved fine.

But one error appears still, when I opened the ingame console: "3do/Buildings/Troops/animals/cow/live.sim" not created -> I suppose this is the cause why I can't save several missions in the "Fighter Boys" campaign from Poltava.

Do you, or someone else, knows where or how I can get these damned cows?

These damned *beeep* cows...

Cows, huh? Holy smokes. I looked through my working install and can't find any cow object (I can barely type from laughing right now). I remember that the Infantry mod had cows but I never installed that.

King Franky: did you install the map on a UI install or other?
