I am a IL-2 enthusiast and the provider of =FN=War_Server (UI 1.2 + Zuti08Final), and it is wonderfull how much mods are making this sim better, but there is something not going very well.
Today there is so much mod packs nobody nows what to download anymore. You have a option to have 3-4 IL-2 installations or you will not able to join THAT server or THIS server.

We are all mature people (i guess), and there is so much hard work involved on that mods what make me able to tell with sure. WE NEED TO WORK TOGHETER.

We need a UNIQUE MOD PACK.

Nobody take care if it will be called xpack or ypack, or who will have the credits. Everybody who works on this mods diserves the credits. We need to make the mod communities to come togheter in a way all efforts becomes centralized in a single bigger place with bigger community and bigger support.

All mod packs have something special and use eachother works.

All we need is to make that mods community leaders to work togheter because it can not became a (Mod Pack War).
Soon we will have one mod pack each week and all squadron will have one and then IL2 will be DEAD.

Take the pride feellings asside and lets walk side by side.

UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION !!!

Big Grin

Well, I am going to say something to you, but I hope you don't get offended. I really don't mean to hurt your feelings at all, but you did post your thoughts here and must expect people to comment on them.

Now, I agree with what you say......"UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION - UNIFICATION...".

However, look at what you have done with your server. You took UI 1.2 (which is a UNIFICATION Mod...exactly what you want for the community) and EDITED it. Thus, it is not the UI 1.2 any more. It may be YOUR UI 1.2, but it's certainly not the ORIGINAL UI 1.2. Basically, you created a new Mod Pack....something that you are preaching AGAINST in your post ("Today there is so much mod packs nobody nows what to download anymore"). If a player who has the default UI 1.2 wanted to join your server, they could not. This is exactly what you say is hurting the community.

You may say that you only changed one mod (Zuti08Final), but that means nothing. By doing so, you have created your own mod pack...something you yourself say is not good for the community.

Let's see what happens if 9 other servers do the same thing you did. Each server changes only one UI 1.2 mod, but each one changes A DIFFERENT mod. Now,
you will have 10 different servers with 10 different modded versions. If I can play on one, I can't play on the other 9 unless I edit my MODS folder. Even then, I can only play on one at a time until I again need to edit my MODS folder, or use some kind of switcher, or have multiple installs of IL-2, or any of the other methods the community uses to accomplish this.

As I stated earlier, I agree with you that we need UNIFICATION. However, you yourself broke that rule. You can't have it both ways. You can't cry for UNIFICATION and then create a server with a modified UI that is now a different version. You really can't call it a UI any more. The 'U' stands for Unified. If you edit/change a vital mod that requires the player to also edit/change their UI in order to join your server, it's no longer the community UI....it's YOUR UI.

Look, you can do what you like. You can edit the UI any way you like. You can call it anything you like. However, then don't go around wishing for UNIFICATION when you are actually part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Again, I apologize if my words may seem harsh or hurtful. I know a lot of people here do not like it if someone speaks their mind. My intention was not to put you down in any way. However, I really think this needed to be said. Good luck with your new server.

Aviar.

To tell the truth i can not imagine a more rush comment than yours but let stay focused on what is important.

UI appears to have the best and bigger content and HSFX is leading for a real improvment with SFS compactation and errors free enviroment.

It is a fact we have minnors stutters and slow loading times with UI what is very important for not NASA's PCs owners.

All packs have things we would love to see togheter.

It is a bad use of energy spliting the efforts.

About the =FN=War_Server, you are completly right. I did have some bugs with Zuti 08.35 wich was causing bad mission behavior wich ones not happens with 08Final then i did the change.

I think UI is going to move to the next versions of Zutis very soon and also plans to use the SFS compression.

I think Monguse is a very mature guy and i belive he is already absorving all the news to make the nexts UIs better.

The point is ... IT SHOULD BE A SO MUCH EASIER AND PLEASANT WAY IF WE WORK TOGHETER TO A COMMON OBJECTIVE.

But you right, i am not being a example.

Can you apologize me for that ?

I agree that HSFX is the best yet. I have gone through hell for the past 6 months trying to install mods and so far the HSFX mod is the ONLY one that has worked properly for me. I think the load times alone will start winning people over. A big THANK YOU to alll the people involved in making the HSFX mod, i have been so close to taking a hammer to my computer trying to get any of the UI to work its not even funny...IL-2 is fun again, and i hope this is the one that unifies the servers againSmile

Good grief

The topic is about one mod pack not who's better that the other.Because in the end we all should have been working together not apart!

Yes HSFX is excellent in that they have the SFS compiler but more importantly is that HSFX contains all the mods from every place on the planet and is an excellent stepping stone for us to finally get together.

Please keep the "I have a shinier nickel that you do" comments out.

Yes HSFX is excellent in that they have the SFS compiler but more importantly and this pertains to everyone. I'm sure everyone will agree since HSFX contains all the mods from every place on the planet its an excellent stepping stone for us to finally get together.

Dear Monguse,
Thnx for your amazing work and awswering to our questions . Is very clear the way your time are pointed to.

As an addicted virtual pilot, I wonder we have soon some mod pack where we could only enable/disable some mod(s) to join on different servers (using some switcher or something else) instead to keep several IL2 modded instalations.

For exemple, now I have 4 installs:
1- UP 1.7 to fly on Skies Of Valor;
2- UI1.2 to fly on Spits vs 109 MOD and
3- UP 1.8 to off-line flights and some online servers.
4- Last night I just downloaded HSFX 4.0 to test it.

That means one 200gb HD only to IL2 stuff (pretty nice option only do hard disk makers).

I am really beginning to get tired of people who make threads posting how THE COMMUNITY NEEDS UNIFICATION!!!!!!!!

Yes, thank you for telling us with such alcracity, we know that -- and as is always answered, look to HSFX for the answer. A compilation of mods from all over; .SFS files -- it is the step for what people are asking for. So please, enough with the shouty posts on unification?

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.
