I have mastered Vista which runs well for me after much work and many adjustments. I will use it until I get another, better Laptop. This Topic was created by me to help you save money if you can use it.

See this here is my laptop and primary computer, it's not capable of running the game with full graphics for one the limit of RAM usage, 2 the operating system its self runs too many processes which would seem like too much of a load for it to handle at once, and 3rd because of the graphics GPU chip or the NVidia GeForce Go 6150.

I was told many times that Windows 7 would run less processes in the background than vista, and would be a more effective OS to run for games such as IL-2 1946 meaning gamer friendly.

I have seen the official release of windows 7 it's setup is not the same as vista as far as the start menu and navigating files. However I'm sure you can revert to a vista theme or setup that your use too. It's still not that far off if you think about it. Runs an average of 57 processes, vista runs about 80 processes on average, and XP runs about 40 processes on average.

So I said let me just buy a new computer and make it feel like that new computer new OS feeling Big Grin

That's what makes it so exciting, when it's new.

By the way I think my next computer shall be a Desktop, Thought it needs to be a customized one. Hehe.

Yeah, I feel for ya-the nice new feeling and all. Big Grin

Soon, maybe today, I will post a new Topic in PC Technical Help Forum about what I did to get my Laptop with Vista to run like two computers processing IL-2. It looks easy to do once you learn it. What a big difference it made in the sim! By the way, I run NVIDIA Geforce Go 7150M. Perhaps my post coming soon will help you?

Yeah I know someone across the street from me with the same brand computer (Hewlett Packard) but with a better GPU chip that one you have. But on a smaller screen, that frickin' sucks. I got the 17.1 and she has the 15.4 inch screen. Damn it's like they gave me her screen and gave her my board. I wouldn't mind for a bit extra computing power.

Perhaps you could tell me how to juice this one up .
