[solved] IL-2 won´t load while running FreeTrack
#1

Hi everybody,

I have always been curious about headtracking so I decided to give FreeTrack a try.
My assembeled three-point configuration with IR LEDs was working fine with FreeTrack 2.1 together with a MSI StarCam. Unfortunately everytime I try to start IL-2 after launching FreeTrack the game hangs just before the load screen. Modded or unmodded versions of the game behave the same way. BTW I set "trackiruse=1" in the config.ini.

Does anybody know something about this issue and can give advice?
I pretty helpless right now, because FreeTrack 2.2 does not work for me. (The skull won

I use 2.1

It's working. have you activated the 6DOF mod? The tracker variant 2.0 (full 6DOF not by mouse)?

Did you set up Freetrack correctly? (interface it should use should be TRACKIR)

what are youre PC specs? (video drivers settings)

I did not install the 6DOF mod separately but together with the UI1.1. But after that I changed a lot in the installation, for instance applying the official patch and adding some aircraft from SAS.
Probably this messed up the mod installation and I have to reinstall it. Will try this evening.

UI1.1 is not compatible with 409m final.

I followed a path provided at SAS to use the official patch on an already modded installation of IL-2. And so far this worked fine for me. All aircraft that are supposed to be there can be flown, even the ones that came along with the patch. All other mods that I

Now I know why IL-2 refused to load in my initial setup:
it was not because of FreeTrack, it is the combination of FreeTrack and 'Throttle' that made up the problem.

For those who don't know: Throttle is a program that let you assign different controller axis' for separate engine control on multi-engine aircraft.

I really like Throttle and I also like low budget headtracking via FreeTrack in the game. Just had my first air combat with head tracking - what a difference!
Both are great additions. Unfortunately it seems that they don't work together properly

Glad you sorted it. I think 6DoF is far more useful than multi axis engine control. Maybe someone could do a mod for it?

Yes, I have to agree with You.
But I waited a long time for something like 'Throttle' and it encouraged me to turn towards the 2Mots. Therefore it is very useful in different situations and adds a lot to the immersion, especially together with my homemade throttle quadrand.

So, if someone could mod separate engine control working together with FreeTrack, it would be all I could ever ask for.
