#1

Hello,

What is this US plane in Thailand in the beginning of Rambo Forst Blood Part 2 (Rambo 2) please?

I didn't know US army still had props in the 1980's in Southeast Asia...Are these recon planes?

Good day.

Looks like a T-6 Texan II trainer which probably means it is a Pilatus PC-7... Actually, I'm positive it's a PC-7...

Yes! That looks like it. Thank you...

What about the twin-engine plane that brings Rambo over Vietnam and then Rambo gets hang up while going out?

Yeah, i also think you're right. I fly a swiss version of the PC-7 as RC plane and that one on the photo looks very similar to it. But I didn't know that the americans were using Pilatus planes, however.

So none of Rambo movies were filmed in real Vietnam of Southeast Asia even partially? That saddens me :-)

Well I guess the last Rambo (John Rambo) wasn't shot in Myanmar either...That's for sure!

The US military currently uses the Texan II, I believe it's built or designed by Embrarer. I got a good look at one at an airshow at BNAS. It is strikingly similar to the PC-7 in the looks department, and is also a single engine turbo-prop.
