So everybody will be able to download it in the coming ours...as soon as i get "ok" from him.

It will be a one year payed hoster so in theory everything is gonna be allright for donwload.

Of course, there will be NO battle smokes, fire camps......and fleet at all. This was just the present the work. Is some are interrested i will give a second link for download with a static including these object........but good pc are needed.

UPDATE november 16 2009

Readme file here:

For SEPARATE INSTALL copy this in your all.ini file:

Iwo_redko Iwo_redko\load.ini


For "INSTEAD OF" INSTALL:

If you want to install this map in place of the stock one, don't put nothing on all.ini file. In fact you just rename the map file you downloaded Iwo_redko into Iwo, that all.

So you must have the classical line you allready have : Iwo_Jima Iwo/load.ini


Where to put...

- just put the "Iwo_redko" file on your map folder like this:

Il-2 Sturmovik1946/MODS/MAPMODS/maps

- put the textures files like this

Il-2 Sturmovik1946/MODS/MAPMODS/maps/_Tex/redko_tex/Iwo_Jima

If you don't have these folders just create them.


Mont suribachi:

put the file into you mod file.

If you have missions/campains just open you mission.mis file with notepad and in the begining put instead of this MAP Iwo/load.ini ....just this MAP Iwo_redko/load.ini

Not for the moment. Doing so i'm able to count the total dowloadings. It's a pro account now so there not should be problems now.....we will see if we are lucky Fryslanboy :wink:

Hope you will like the work. It's a little map...i guess it could take it's real potential if integrated to a bigger scale....bombings from Iwo to Japan for exemple. Iwo is a very hard map to work... :roll: .

I'm gonna check for missions to play with....i have to say that i did this map most of all because it's historical background more than to play with.

One thing funny is when you put a MASSIVE U.S fleet like the pics i did, you put some japanese units too....and watch the "spectacle"....IT'S MONSTROUS ! If you have a good pc try this, it's really as someone open hell's gates :wink: .

Just to take a fly over the US invasion fleet is a great moment. Try it Fryslanboy if you can !

Hum it's not really a mission...it's just a BIG fleet, amphibie US units moving to the shore for invasion and some japanese units hidden in the other side of the island in order to make the US fleet fire and fire again. It was just to make nice screenies for this topic like some original footage of WW2....there is nothing to do with it....but it's very nice to see it for explosion effect on Iwo and see the fleet in action. :wink:

Btw thanks fabian for your mount Suribachi...it's better than the stock one :wink: . I will try to take some 3dsmax lessons from a friend in order to make a better one Suribachi later....
