Because then anyone who wanted to cheat COULD use uberplanes on the server without getting kicked.

I have conducted an online statistical study of this phenominon. The so-called "cheating" is very much an urban myth and is much over-rated, and occurs about 1 in 1,000 - 1,300 flying hours. For most online pilots this is less than once per year.

You have some mods outthere that are really killing the online gameplay when you want to play fullrealism.
I am thinking about a mod that allow you to have the external views even if the option is not on.

Since spit vs 109 adopted this CRT2 filter, "flying behavviors" changed and it is now easier to surprise an ennemy (like it was in reality in fact).

The CRT=2 serves two purposes, one is to thwart cheating which i've noticed on servers with out it, there are occasional anomalies that make me question the integrity of the players. For this reason i think its helpful to have, as rare as the problem might be, i would hate to see someone take advantage in a less obvious way where maybe the cheat is not easily recognized.

The other thing it does is help keep legitimate players like myself from being falsely accused of cheating. CRT=2 helps ensure that we are all playing a fair game with the same parameters, so there is no need for arguments of that nature, everyone is on the same playing field and best of all, its automatically enforced.

I can't think of a reason why a server wouldn't adapt a CRT=2 standard especially as mods start moving more and more toward compressed formats where online play will be more standardized.
