For the .303's if anyone here belongs to a file-sharing site I can send you the mod via e-mail. Or you can check out this mod (The link is inoperative) and download in order to get the .303 tracer mod Big Grin I hope this helps 8)

Thanks philip, but no joy after extracting the mod from that download. I also found a file of the same name in the HSFX Files folder, and so gave it a go with that disabled as well, but still no success. Probably some deeper conflict with HSFX at work here. Anyways, as HG has said at SAS, it might be better to wait for things to stabilize around HSFX4.1 before delving much further into this.

Hmmm, are you using the AAA weapons mod? Maybe try and use the default effects included with that? Also, have you check to make sure that there is a file included in the .303 mod. I'm a bit stumped here :-?

No joy there either, but I need to get HSFX4.1 installed, then I'll investigate further from that point.

OK.

@alessio, did you have tracers on the italian planes before? As I stated, not all guns share the same effects file so can't get every gun to use this effect. Wink

This does not work with the new Uranium effects mod? I tried putting it in with the Generic Mod Enabler and it shows several conflicts with that mod.

What is exactly " several conflicts " ?
Uranium mod is not using any file that 00_Philip_ed_Bullets_Intermittent_Smoketrail_V1 is using , period .
It could be just general warning about effects change but I believe that Generic Mod Enabler can't
know it all and sort out all effects and files .
If you use both mods no matter what warning say , bullets intermittent smoketrail effects should be working for you.

The pop up box has this warning when I try to enable both:

Warning enabling "00_A_Uranium_Edition_New_Effects_V1_BBD not compatible

"ReadMe.txt" has already been altered by the "00_Philip_ed_Bullets_Intermittent_Smoketrail_V1" mod.
Folder "Effects" has already been added by the "00_Philip_ed_Bullets_Intermittent_Smoketrail_V1" mod.
Folder "Effects\Materials" has already been added by the "00_Philip_ed_Bullets_Intermittent_Smoketrail_V1" mod.
Folder "Effects\Smokes" has already been added by the "00_Philip_ed_Bullets_Intermittent_Smoketrail_V1" mod.

Enabling this mod may have adverse affects on your game


Yes your correct,,,looks like all it wants to change is the readme text.

Now that I see this , I would say Generic Mod Enabler should be just enabling mods and
not making comments about what's compatible and what's not :lol:
As long as Generic Mod Enabler is not in business of rewritting files inside 3DO , Effects ,
Material , Smokes , Textures folder etc....which are using also other mods and their files are
needed , then it should be OK .
I have never used Generic Mod Enabler , I hope it is not rewritting files each time new mod is
added and it is actually only adding mods as they're configured with each mod's own folders structure .

Last night while flying HSFX 4.1 with this mod in the MODS folder, My squad came up against some Macchi 202s and when they fired their weapons, they had the new tracer smoke effects, so those at least work on my PC. I do not, though have the uranium effects installed in HSFX........yet.

It would be cool to enable the smoke trails for 0.50cal's and stuff.
I'm using this Philip, great work.
Although I have swapped the texture :p
