Good points but my concern was for "all grass" fields that were in England during WWII (some were concrete).
I would kid the airfield's grounds-keeper to water down the field before we took off. His response was "it would make the field muddy :mrgreen: "
Notable are the scenes from the movie "Battle of Britain" with the Spits and Hurricanes taking off - no dust clouds as they scrambled.
