Ive been seeing many videos recently where people are crashing in il-2 1946 and i was wondering, how do you get it so your plane doesnt just explode instantly if you hit the ground hard? Mine gets a little damaged but then it just blows up. The only way i can crash is to slow down and lightly crash which looks stupid.

Well, most of the shots in that video are cut short, and so there's a high chance the aircraft exploded later on.
Otherwise, try hitting the ground with a wing or with your tail.
It's odd intructing someone how to crash

The crashes on the video are one-in-a-million-shots. I have crashed like that, but it has just pure luck.

Don't know about that, lock-on may have better crashes but I don't think it interferes with Il-2 to make better crashes.

for them not exploding instantly my thought would have been Realistic Landings/Takeoffs was off, but i dont think that the planes break apart when it's off

dont come down to hard, if u do u will explode, you want to fly along the ground then put maybe the wing or tail on the ground, another way is put down ur landing gear and come down on it a little hard so it will break, that could make a good crash, but it is mostly u have to get lucky
P.S. try slicing into bombers with bombers in the air, it makes cool crashes and its a little easyer than hiting the ground... lol

i have a secret crashing spot in the Kuban level (i'm not telling ), i've been doing some interesting crashes, saved tracks and now i have to record them

Try putting invulnerability on, Or reduce you speed and turn, then try and hit your wing, at about 175 - 150 KpH
