Missing aircraft from HFSX 4.1
#1

Hi gentlemen:

I succeeded in download and install versions 4.0 and 4.1 of HSFX, checking the Hash sums on both cases, Installed and received the "correctly" installed message at the end of both, but more than one aircraft that was supposed to be in version 4.1 are missing. (Fairey Fulbar, C-47 a and B, F-86, Mig 15, etc....).

Has anyone Idea of what is a probable cause and correction for this situation? :???: :?:

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Check for more than one version of the air.ini in your set up - it might be reading the wrong one.

Humberto,

As was said, check your air.ini file. If the planes aren't there you will need to replace that file with the corrected one. It is only about a 40kb file so could email it to you if necessary.

I thanks you for your prompt help:

however, I had only one air.ini (files/com/maddox/il2/objects/air.ini) in HSFX and in this air ini, there were some of the aircraft that were supposed to be in, but not all of them, as per 242 sqd. I have to make a small list with those that are missing, comparing my aircraft list with the 242 squadron aircraft list, and I will put the names of the missing planes in here ASAP.

By the way: When I was checking the missing aircraft, I only had one air.ini as I said (in files folder) and I had also a Mods folder with a WIP that came in with my installation; after that I included in the said Mods folder a Map subfolder with a of map (wake) and the whole of the all.ini which had wake load.ini (from files/maps/all.ini) and also a STD folder with coms/......../objects/air.ini (copied the whole of it only from "files") and 18i (copied only plane_ru.properties and weapons_ru.properties) and in this way, I put a PBY with extra weapons (depth charges, flares, etc), so NOW I have two air.ini. 8)

After that however, the game launches ok, but no wake map and the PBY cannot takeoff from sea (looks like if it were on land, crawling at 5 kph). I was using the Aleutians Map from HSFX, and a mission that I made for this Aleutian Map v2, of U.I 1.1.1

Will keep fiddling and will make the list of missing aircraft. (SORRY 'CAUSE THIS IS A THE DOUBLE POST, I GUESS)

Thanks again Big Grin

Did you try just disabling the mods folder, i.e.: "-MODS".

I had the same problem as you did when I first try to
install the 4.1 patch. After 5 times, I decided to dl the
4.1 to my desktop. From my desktop I double click the
4.1 exec and it installed the patch correctly. I then
started the game and all the planes were there.
So try dl the 4.1 patch to your desktop.

Thank to all of you people trying to help! I am really ashamed:

Lakota, you were right, well, almost:

When I Installed HSFX 4.1, I did, but believe me, I don't know where, because for sure, it was not on top of 4.0!

Today I had a hunch, and reinstalled 4.1, and this time I double checked that it was on top of 4.0.... and my missing planes came to me. Confusedmackdown: Confusedmackdown:

Sorry for being, again, a PITA.

Hi Bf-109B

Thanks for the tip

I downloaded this aircraft, I am still trying to figure out how to install all or at least most of the information from U.I 1.2 what is already in or out and other pieces of peanuts (you know, Buttons, air.ini in two places, etc)

So will be busy for a couple days, and knowing that I am, well, lazy, may be more ( it took me all this time to thanks you!)

The PZL P.24 didn't make it into HSFX 4.1. This is a good flying plane sold to the eastern European countries before and used early in WWII. It was the most commonly used plane by the Greeks in their war against Italy.

The Malvinas (Falklands) map didn't make it either. This seems like a useless map but I had a couple of fun missions with Fairey Swordfish escorted by Sea Hurricanes going after the Graf Spee. It actually is a well done map with other potentials.

Anyone know of other aircraft or maps not included in 4.1? We need to assemble a list for inclusion in the next version of HSFX.

I know there are some old AI planes not more flyable now: Ki-46 III Kai Otsu, Pe-8, Me-323.....
Not tested the whole list.
On the other hand, I'm very happy with the pack, but some mods are better than others (WIP mods, I suppose), for example, the MiG-17 is not a MiG-17, it's a MiG-15 with new FM (true MiG-17 have different wings at different angle, with three fences instead two, and the body is longer than MiG-15), Breda 65 is the old Neman R-10 with different name, and the Hs-123 is way too fast.
The pack is 9/10 in my book. Only few weak (well, not too weak) mods and few bugs (the change of the Okinawa map instead of giving us both versions, the Hellcat cockpits and some building textures.
Thank you all involved!

Allegedly, the P.24 was not included because of a bug that makes it impervious to rifle caliber fire.

Which is a shame and i hope it can be resolved because it's a neat little plane.

I flew the P.24 a lot and didn't notice the problem. Seems like I was getting shot down my usual amount while in it. LOL

It was a good matchup for a lot of the eastern European 1938-1940 type planes. I hope it gets sorted out too.
