IL-2 1946 - How does the online rating system work?
#1

Hi all, new to the forums, and I apologise if this is in the incorrect part of the forums.

Simple question, I haven't played IL-2 against other players before (only ever played single player), and I'm trying to work out how the scoring scheme works seeing as I've only recently got into LAN play. For example, if I shoot down an enemy plane, I seem to get 20 points, if I get shot at, and manage to land on my bases runway, I seem to get approximately 150 points. Am I missing something?

I personally thought it might have something to do with real world examples, eg, I take off, shoot down an enemy, bomb an opposing base, then RTB, I get more points than taking off, shooting down enemy planes, and bailing.

Does anyone know of a website that might have more information on the exact scoring?

Cheers

I knew that S brings up the online scoreboard.

The post by "Easy_Rider" had all the information I needed, but it's now deleted?

EDIT: I should rephrase that a bit better, the post after yours, "The_Pilot", was made by "Easy_Rider" (I believe) and detailed all the object points, like destroying an AA gun was worth 60 points to your score etc. When I went to say thank you, the post was removed.

Can you repost it again Easy_Rider, please?

Im not sure of the exact scores for everything but its usually 100 points for an air to air kill per engine (single engine plane = 100 points, 4 engines=400 points)

ground targets range frome 10 to 50 and ships range from 200 to 500.

But you must "bank" your points by making it home. Landing safely you get 100% points earned for that sortee, bail in freindly territory gets you 50%, bail in enemy territory you get 20% and if you die you only get 10% of the points earned on that sortee.

I may be wrong on the figures but its a fair approximation i think

Thanks for the information seaniebeag1983 and Quelty, exactly what I was looking for. I'll be sure to aim for the bombers during LANs now... Ha
