Did you make a TOTAL CLEAN install??
No mods.

Disk 4.07---->4.08m-----> 4.09m
If you install like this it should work fine.

sounds like you didn't find the right directory path check that..

Go into your game folder and find the
icon to start the game. Make a new copy of it on your
desk top. see if that works other than that I really dont know.
Only other thing is to REINSTALL the game. good luck M8

Im having this exact same issue, and my game is now in Russian, I tried the FIX and that didnt do anything. I have deleted EVERYTHING i can find with IL2 attached to it. But this is the strangest part. I install stock game 4.07 Its english and everything works as it should. I then in stall 4.08 (three different DL's BTW) and my game goes to Russian and a Previous profile shows up in my "Pilots"!! I have no idea where it is getting this info from and it only happens after I load 4.08. I try loading on 4.09 but it still reads 4.08 in Russian then crashes shortly after. WTF is going on?
