[MOD] UTI-4 trainer by Ilyushin & Ivan750 FINAL
#16

The russians also used I-16 airframes with wing panels removed for students to practice taxiing without risking a take-off! I don't know how widespread that practice was but it's mentioned in the memoirs of a russian pilot who flew in front line service from just after Barbarossa and into the Korean War. Can't remember the guys name but he was in the same squadron as Ivan Khoze... Kozedub... A famous russian ace.

Sorry...

UTI-2... wasn't it a I-16 2-seater, with non retractable undercarriage ???

Avoir la foi, c'est être plus sûr d'une chose que la raison ne le permet.

I'm not much for Russian planes(I kind of hate them), but this is actually rather interesting, like the Yak trainer in HSFX... A curiosity...

Look at the rear canopy.

PS: Anyone else notice the wing of a German plane in the back ground? I wonder what it is...

EDT: Look at the fixed gear struts.

So once you had finished your training you literally "got your wings". Interesting background information.

Absolutely superb, thank you very much for this, I love it. The sim has always
been in need of training aircraft.

Yes, it looks like it. Another photo of a different plane at that field that same day reveals the airfield had just been captured by the Germans.

How do I install the UTI-4 on my HSFX version 4.1? The read me says to place the UTI-4 folger in my "MOD" folder but there is no "MOD" folder in HSFK 4.1.
