Swastika colour depends on the wartime. Starting the WWII, swastikas and balkenkreuz were black. Since 1944, white ones were more common.
You don't need any mod. It's historic.

Some of the swastikas were just white outlines.
One thing I've learned is never go by anything but photos. Don't depend on any kind of nice profiles or paintings because once and a while some one has made a goof. One thing I've seen a lot is a backwards Udet Falcon on one side or the other for a JG 3 109 or 190. I had to dig up some pics to show a skinner his boo boo.

Sorry but I have to disagree here.
Though white (or light gray) swastikas might have become
more common in the end of WWII, this doesn't come true for all aircrafts and seasons.
Light decals make sense for ground attack planes in conjunction with a low-vis paint scheme (especially for winter paintings).
On the other hand, darker paintings wouldn't gain any profit from light decals such as the swastika and it's unlikely that they should have been changed in numbers since.
Let's take the Bf-109 K-4 as a sample and search for pictures of this late warbird, which has seen significant production in the time frame in question (1944/45) only.
I could hardly find any picture of a Kurf
I just thought of something funny about these JG insignias. With my insignia II./JG27 the little Bear of Berlin faces forward on the supercharger side of the 109 and faces back towards the tail on the other side. To me this seems odd. I checked and checked probably fifty II./JG27 109s but they were all the same.....THEN...In a book I have Janes "Battles With The Luftwaffe" there is a picture of a G6 from the non supercharger side and the Bear is facing forward. So on my skins sometimes I cut and flip the Bear facing forward in good faith because I can say to myself I've seen a real one done the same way. Canon would kill me.
Hello All,
Weren't the white/grey-outlined swastikas more common on late-war multi-engine aircraft and less common on single engine types? Just a suspicion I have.
Regards,
RB
The real problem here is that defaults are that: defaults (marking problems arise at many places in game, from time to time you'll see wrong markings if matched with WWII-pictures). Historically, individual planes have different variants of hakencross, and sometimes, variation in size and exact location.
But it would be nice to be able to change the design (full/outlined/broken shape...colour) easily. So let us say that Andriss rephrase his mod request: no longer to get all those in black, but better, we DO want a mod that allows the player to easily change the kind of swastika that will be used as default for some planes, like a switch between full (white/black) swastikas, or outlined (white/dark), etc... also some planes had "broken" swatikas, with discontinuous lines... they look nice.
Beyond historical accuracy I just would like to have sligthly more customizable swastika-defaults (OK, yes, I know that I can put fully marked individual skins, but I'd like something more general than that). I don
