UI was AAA's mod pack - it was abandoned cos AAA supports unification of IL2 community

install HSFX 4.1 > you'll get the most recent AAA mods along with 4.09m compatibility and by doing that you will support unifying of IL2 modding community .

UP is just repack of HSFX like it was repack of UI's before .... second hand stuff

Except UltraPack has a lot more planes than HSFX and you can always downgrade to HSFX from UP with JSGME, but you can not upgrade to UP from HSFX with JSGME.

Ultrapack 2.0

it contains HSFX4.1 and more.

Yes, but Up has Fm's which have been messed around with. UI 1.2 or HSFX are the best IMO. You can be sure you are getting a quality product.

.. to be totally clear UP has tendency to take perfectly fine mods from other communities and "tweak"/"improve" /"debug" them just so it looks like they did some actual work for community ... usually without consulting original author of mods in question .

HSFX = online play, set standard and compatibility for entire community
UP = balls out offline play

You know i think this is part of the problem that i can see it wont stop!
Lots of people complain about this fact: too much mods, too complicated ,what mods activate and all that stuff
I don't talk for me, i downloaded all mods, when it's HSFX 4.1 i fly with it, when it is UP 2.0 i switch by renaming the game directory i have space on my HD so no problem
But for entry level computer users it is too complicated so they stay with 4.09 no mods
The thing HSFX team should do is to put all mods who are not affecting online play on and let us choose mods who are affecting computer performance only ex:effect high, perfect map texture
That way everybody should be on the same level when starting a dogfight or a coop

Unifier Installer is dead.
HSFX is the future base.
UltraPack builds upon HSFX for an easier installation of add-ons not found in HSFX.

If the Community comes together and can produce a new Unified Mods Pack, UltraPack will be dead as well. But until that happens your best options (unless your happy with 4.08m) is HSFX 4.1 and or UltraPack 2.0

FM= flight model?

i went with UP 2.0, way easier to install and runs smoother. Prob. when BOB comes out everyone will move to that anyway and we will all be back to the start.
