Unified Installer and ultrapack??
#16

I say get the HSFX 4.1, for two main reasons
1) with HSFX 4.1 you can trust the Integrity of the FM's and
the AAA modders. You know you will get the Best here and
not worry about messed up FM.
2) UP 2.0 has many issues and bugs. For one which I know for a
fact, with UP 2.0, you can not use the HSFX switcher and Zuti
MDS together. Also in the UP 2.0 they have 38 different mods
in their JSGME in which if you try use some of them together, they
conflict with each other.
Where as with HSFX 4.1 most work together, however at times
certain ones over write each other.
So IMHO you are better off with the HSFX 4.1.
I have both and I LOVE the HSFX 4.1 .

i went with UP 2.0, way easier to install and runs smoother. Prob. when BOB comes out everyone will move to that anyway and we will all be back to the start.
I have HSFX and have tried UP. You say " easier to install" compared to what????
They both install the same way. Very easy on both their parts.
Runs smoother here again I must ask COMPARED to what. Both run smooth.
PLEASE dont make stuff UP ok.
Let folks make up their own minds with truths not BULL.

i just hope there will be consensus regarding not altering author's work (mods) without consulting him first

i mean some kind of code of conduction should get established cos at present state it is disrespectful and could make some authors stop publishing their work ... which would be great loss for whole IL2 community .

I agree. I didn't even recieve any workd of any kind on whether I would even allow my tracers into the UP (because presumably from what I've seen tey are).

It's all second-hand stuff....like giving someone a pair of socks, and they stick it in a box and say it's new.

Ok, I am really confused now fellas, and from the bottom of my heart mean no disrespect, but is the complaint that your mods are used with the UP mod package?? Each and every modder here and there has came out with at least one good contribution to the game, so with that being said, I downloaded your intermittent smoke mod that you posted at SAS and put it in my mods folder, the same with some of zo's mods, and I run UP2.0, are you saying you don't want it ran with UP 2.0 at all??? I have seen mods here tweaked by other modders in the past, and I thought you guys were kosher with stuff like that, your smoke mod was based off of HG's and Potenz's mod. I think, in my opinion, that you would send mixed signals if you post a mod and then say "I didn't even recieve any workd of any kind on whether I would even allow my tracers into the UP"??

No, I'm saying that I'd like to know that they had put it in the UP (I presumed it was because when I looked at the UP list it said intermittent smokes) because then I could have talked with them about getting the most from it. AAA always used to give full author credits (not a list saying thanks to some people from AAA) and they'd work to get the most from the mod if needed. Now i want everyone to enjoy my mod so you can use it with every pack, but if it is included in a pack I'd like to know about it and be given credit Big Grin Is this understandable?

We are all seeing people cogitate after the latest mod borrow and change without notification. Can't say I blame them either, I'm sure things will eventually ebb to some kind of normalcy.

As a site administrator surely you have some responsibility not to inflame subjects and aim to not offend? This constant sniping at almost every other community and site is getting very tiring and boring. The whole IL-2 community is bigger than your ego, at least i hope it is...all this talk of unity is just talk until some more effort is made by administrators of this site. Perhaps your attitude is mistaken because maybe english is not your first language? I hope so. I personally expect more of this once great site! Sorry if i offend but really some moderation of YOUR posts are necessary?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. And as it happens, please view the recent FM thread on the FW A3. We are doing everything to seek unity (tell me when the last UI came out and when the last UP came out) yet the guys as UP will happily not change their FM's or continue to re-pack mods when we have stopped to seak unity. Moving to HSFX and dropping our 'brand name' was a first step, but no other community has really followed us here. The ball now is in their court to work towards the Unified pack. We are ready for it.

With all due respects , everyone has the right to post and say their peace. Zo is not stating anything I have not stated in a more explanatory way. Zo for a lack of a better word is the "cliff notes" while I expand and give detail.

With that said, I have seen many and I mean many inflammatory remarks without proof I might add exist on other forums. As I said, Zo gave the "cliff notes" on the same post I posted.

Now, I'm waiting to share with Hades the information I culled from HSFX, AAA UI, UP 1.8, UP 2.0 that gives a full report on what is different what is the same. I can also tell how much of what was changed from build to build. For instance, I can without a doubt follow a paper trail of changes of all UI buttons to date or any buttons build.

Why I said what I said is because of the data mining I performed on the buttons.

Monguse, i applaud your work and your attitude, however just because inflammatory things are said on other sites, which i'm sure many here do not read, it is no reason to condone or justify the same attitude here? I know these are heated times but Zo's comments and attitude do not seem to be the same or in the same manner as all the other admins here. Anyway keep up the good work! No more comments from me Big Grin

Ok I just re read what was posted. Its the "cliff notes" version of what I posted.

Nothing inflammatory there.

I conur that inflammatory posts should not exist anywhere on any forum posts. It does no good other than to harbor hate.

I can't agree more here with what zo has said.
