Adding New Maps to UP2.0
#1

Hello all,

I am running UP2.0 and have been adding various mods, yesterday i tried to add some map mods, i added the following succesfully,

Palembang
Sakashima
but with the following three
B29 Alley
Archangelsk
mixx_zapolar

I can load the maps in full mission builder but cannot save any missions, i have followed the advice given by Fly_zo, at (The link is inoperative) and the advice in the mixx_zapolar readme about adding the 3do file contained in the download (tried with and without with the same result).
I was wondering if anyone else has had success loading these maps with UP2.0 and if so did they have to find a work around. Or can anyone suggest a solution?

any help greatly appreciated

regards

You may possibly be missing some objects that are embedded into those maps. If you can load the maps in your install then they have been installed properly, otherwise they would not show at all. It is usually missing objects that gives the problem you describe.

There is a tool that can check your static.ini file and see which objects in the map are missing in your own static.ini. These objects can then be loaded into your game afterwards.

Here is a link for download:

Thanks Agracier,

I have found out that it is something to do (i think) with fabianfreds extra static.ini etc files for UP2.0, if i swap these for original UP2.0 files everything runs fine, i've asked fabianfred to see if he can track down what is wrong here.

It will be the same thing, only in reverse. With fabianfred's static.in, there are probably some missing mod files for objects that are in Fabianfred's static.ini but not in your install.

Il-2 sure is a temperamental game to run, isn't it? One little object missing and she goes into a sulk and won't come out to play ... ha ha
