I guess the game engine won't allow the helicopters to work properly ( hope I'm wrong ), i remember that there were many topics in many different forums about having a helicopters in Il 2 , however nobody actually created one.

Idea is not bad  100+

It's possible just a lot of work. I started making one but laid in aside with all the other work that needs to be done first. If anyone wants to take up the project they're welcome to the files I started. It's just a start though. I on;y worked on class files. No 3D work.

Talking about heli's, the H03S heli would be a most wonderful add on :o

I believe Germany had one at the end of the war and used it for ferrying only

Well,

All info looks good here, especially the pic of a world war two heli. Maaan, I wish we could get some included in the game. I will however, try my hand at it. I'll let you guys know if I'm successful.

Best bet would be the Li-2 autogyro.

It's mainly a korean war bird but it already flew in 1945 (and even as early as 1943) designated YR-5A with the USAAF.
One of the most appealing heli's ever created if you ask me Tongue

True, but to be accurate, the YR-5A was designated HO2S-1. The HO3S-1 didn't fly until after the war.
