I just thought I would post my list of important WWII types that are currently not in IL-2 and are not WIP as far as I know. Note: The number after the aircraft type denotes how many were built

BBury, what's a good 3D graphics editor program, I could use to convert like GMAX made planes from FS2004 into the format IL2 uses, as many of the planes on the above list are already freeware files made for FS with quality 3D files, but they would need new slots, FM's and pits into IL2's format. And are any programs freeware?

You can't convert any FS planes to Il-2. It is not a matter of simply importing a 3D model, it needs to be reworked so much that it is practically faster and less complicated to just do it from scratch.

Hello,

I meant for this thread to be more of a list of available (and important) aircraft so that someone who completes a project can then look and see what is most needed. I suppose I should change the thread title to show that.

@max: The Lancaster is WIP by RAF662 and lookin' mighty fine. I imagine there may be more of an impetus to make nachtjagers once TD finishes the Bf110G-4 with working radar. Even then, I imagine the Ju88G would be the next logical project. I'm not sure how many Me262Bs made it into battle but I doubt it is as many as the 337 Do217Ns. An Me262B would still be cool though...motion seconded .

I know the Lancaster is already in the makings, and so is a much needed Dornier Do-17
which would go great for BoB action scenario. I will wait patiently until they come out.
I am already having too much fun skining and flying the new airplanes available, so
I can wait for a few more months.

Your choice for an L-4 Piper Cub has got my vote!
Pretty cool little plane, just like the L-5 already available. I will skin this guy one of these days
