Okay, we've all had one of those perfect moments where we come in nice and low, barreling in on the deck towards a delicious looking enemy freighter, a bomb clinging to our belly. We flare the nose slightly and let the bomb fly. Just to piss em' off, we fly low over the enemy ship before the bomb detonates. Then what happens? One of our wings falls off. We failed to notice the damn barrage balloon attached to the mast. According to an article I was reading, the Germans had very effective wire cutters that snapped the wires when they were hit by the leading edge of a wing.

Many bombers were equipped with devices to cut barrage balloon cables. Britain used large numbers of balloons, so Germany developed the most capable cable-cutters. Their systems consisted of small C-shaped devices attached to the leading edge of the wing. When a cable entered the device after sliding down the wing, it triggered a small explosive charge that drove a blade through the cable.

Would anyone like to make a new slot Ju-88 or something that has those wire cutters? Is it even possible?

Wonder if it's possible to-do in IL-2, maybe when Lancaster comes out where find out because I know they had them, not shore about other RAF bombers.

Well they got it listed after the 'Westland Whirlwind' so I guess when that's finished it will be next?
