Stock 4.09m does not have all the mods which can definately affect your FPS. I get great FPS on my stock 4.09m too, but it's with the various mods that the lower FPS start to show.

You could always download what you want and stick 'em in yer Mods folder to try. Then if they still don't work to your liking, you can disable or delete them altogether, with no harm done.
(you prob know that the Mods folder will load first and overide the other stuff). You can still add Mods to your Mods folder, as you did with UI, even though you have 4.1 and UP now.
Just thought it would be worth a try....

Bro, there are dozens of things that can improve your overall FPS. I'm sure you know that optimization has been well covered in the PC Technical Help Forum. Every week for the last few months, I have steadily realized things and made improvements in my FPS.

A few days ago, I was in the Spits vs 109s online mission. There were many pilots in there at the time and my FPS ranged from 20 to almost 100 FPS. All I have is a Dual Core AMD Turion and an NVIDIA GeForce GO 7150M in a laptop computer. I have noticed a drop with the new heavily modded plane types, but it is now satisfactory with them.

I hope we helped.

My problem is not an overall loss of fps, it's specific to one plane, the P47. The game runs fine until I get in the P47 cockpit.

Is there a way to go back to the original cockpit?
