It looks like a cross between an F6F, A6M-2N, P-47, and an F8F

We've got a couple of Japanese float planes, at least one German,

yes why not?

There was a dude somewhere that was working on getting a catapult off a battleship to launch these- tho I cannot remember where and it's likely dead Sad
