Okay This is all new to me so help me out here.
I had 1946 which is 4.07m. Install 4.08m and 4.09m and do HSFX 4.0 and 4.1.
My question, is there anything else I need, like sound mods or buttons?

No HSFX is the whole package.
Try it out before you start adding stuff.
O.K. to save confusion HSFX INSTALLS THE WHOLE LOT ??? even UI 1.1 and UI 1.2 ??? or am i wrong ??.
I have not touched a HSFX file nor read any HSFX posts yet but that was next project after my complete re-install i started yesterday
Okay so just HSFX? Or should I install the patches too?
EDIT! Just look at the sticky at the top 4.09 is needed.
Do you know something I don't.. Where exactly does it state that the UI is now obsolete? There are still people using the UI.. Our UI section still gets regular hits daily.

There are lots of folks who play offline and UI is great for them.
I have ran in to many people who in fact have down loaded 4.09b1m thinking
it was the patch needed to play on line only to find it was the WRONG one.
They were not happy folks. After very long download times and patching
only to find out it was wrong.
Maybe a STICKY that states not good for online play.

Please tell me skyomish i want to play online but i cannot i have UI1.1 and UI 1.2 so i need a new install of 4.09m could you point me in the right direction please to play online we need an online standard page to clear up any confusion because i thought i had all the correct files for online but i don't.

Patch the game to 4.09m using the official patches
4.08m patch

Then apply the HSFX-V4.0 and HSFX 4.1 mod pack ---

End result is IL2 v4.9m HSFX4.1 --- Fully modded with new aircraft and maps and server compliant.
Clean install 4.07 disk----4.08m patch----4.09m patch---HSFX-V 4.0-------HSFX-V 4.1
Et voila! You can now run with 4.1
Before I download HSFX... Can I add mods after i install it? Or not? I need an answer, because I install this tomorrow during my day off.
And how does one create the folder?
Windows Explorer...right-click...New...Folder...
Thanks! Now off to wait 2 hours for hsfx to download.
